So in other words, they told a big fib back in September.

From the September article:
This wasn’t supposed to have happened until next spring. But Brian Emmons, Southern Land’s development manager in Philadelphia, said that strong pre-sales of condos enabled the company to meet the capital requirements to start work well ahead of the planned spring groundbreaking.

Laurel sale gallery is holding a happy hour fundraiser for Allan Domb on May 2. If they have actually broken ground by then as they claim, it should be a celebratory event.

The equipment sits ready for marching orders. A ways back someone was asking who is the general contractor - it's Hunter Roberts in case no one answered you.

So anyone know how to operate those machines? Maybe we can motivate them to start earlier.

That is because, and means, that it hasn't started...Sandy's article also said within two weeks. Not yet, but if it doesn't start in the next few days it will miss that claimed start date.

Maybe they are waiting for The Harper to get their equipment and barriers out of the way on narrow Sansom street. It's a tight squeeze to get a large excavator and dump trucks in and out of there. This is a big project with very little room to do it. I assume Sansom Street will be their main access road for equipment, cement trucks etc.?

They are really milking these advertisements and drumming up hype here and social media. Please dig a large hole who already... I hope Hunter Roberts has this up on their website soon and attach a webcam for us nerds to get a on-demand looksee. Ironically, Hunter Roberts worked on another project in NYC also called the Laurel.

Thank you sir. Very kind. But when duty calls, a man feels compelled to answer. Or run away and hide for a while, which is what I did.

Dude, haven't you heard? The draft is OVER. Since 1973! No need to hide anymore.

Still no activity on site, but there was a guy posting a new permit notice to the fence facing 20th Street. I asked him when this one was starting, and he said, "in the next month"

I assume they dont think anyone who sees their ads will actually walk or drive by the site in person.

Hot off the presses! Well, atlas… Construction permit issued yesterday, Tue May 07 2019.

Pro tip: This permit doesn't show up if you search atlas for 1911 Walnut. Instead search for 1907 Walnut (also shows up for search of some, but not all, odd # addresses between 1907-1915). Atlas has quirks.
