Most of them are over 150m

I took a look at the diagrams page, but there were too many towers to count. At least 175 projects over 150m, but many are multiple tower projects. The actual tower count is somewhere well over 200 (I got half way through and gave up)

Not everyone wants to live in a city full of 200m towers. Density is great, but it can get out of hand.

I like the fact that the low-income units are intermixed across multiple floors in this building.

The other thing that this project shows is the development of highrises outside the downtown's golden circle. Looks like it is moving south faster than it is moving west.

Hong Kong is spectacular, including because of the ocean, the hills / mountains, and the green of the surrounding slopes. It was ahead of the game - developing in this way over the last three decades. It is also a great example of skyscraper variety - heights and styles. Most everything is sleek - nothing fat like the Bow.

That being said, there are some parts of Hong Kong that are difficult to live in because they are beyond ideal density. It is really quite overcrowded. But still, can't take anything away from its spectacular skyline.

If you're extremely short of land like on Hong Kong. But it comes at a terrible cost for the average person. In Canada, you can build out and have houses that go for a couple hundred dollars/square feet, rather than many thousands.

There's a big difference between any multi-family building construction versus single family home construction. Pedantically insinuating that "construction" can only mean skyscrapers or single family houses is a bit absurd. Calgary has 21 high-rises under excavation, under construction, and topped out right now, along with dozens of low and mid-rise structures underway. Those, however, are rarely if ever updated on this thread. The mansion is going to be a masterpiece. It will be something that we can all aspire to. School field trips will bring children from far and wide to admire what hard work might bring them one day. If they're lucky the owner will let them tour the inside so they can soak in the luxury of having 6K+ sq. ft. of space to live in instead of the 550 sq. ft. they saw in the condo tour they did the week before in the Belt Line.
