I agree. The LED lighting is very cold and stark. Wish they would have installed something warmer.

In terms of decals, only the "O" and station names are expected.

They seem to have installed the decal at Blair now looking at the photos from the last update

A lot of the maps hadn't been updated since September of last year and the Spring service change is just around the corner.

Something really bugs when it comes to how they built surface stations. Most look completely open-air. I used to remember that the old transitway versions of the stations all had a completely closed area (often the main concourse or Mezzanine) where people would stay away from the cold (during winter) or any other bad weather conditions.
Now most concourses and mezzanine are open to any kind of weather conditions. Especially Blair, Hurdman, Bayview & Tunneys Pasture that are oriented in the way of the dominant wind (West to East). When I passed around Blair station this winter, I could see snow particles flying everywhere in the main concourse and I'm not even mentioning the wind that engulf inside the station because of the high roof top.

One thing they do have is direct radiant heat in sheltered areas on the platform, time will tell if it's enough. On the other hand the bubble transitway stations can be brutal places to wait in the summer, so maybe it will balance out

I never waited in the heated areas of the old Transitway Stations because I didn't want to miss my bus. Instead I would wait 20-30 minutes in the freezing cold for a bus that would arrive 15 minutes late. No, the new stations aren't fully enclosed (though more so than most other LRT based systems), but at least we won't have to wait more than 5-10 minutes most of the time and we won't have to stress about figuring out which of the 15 buses lined up is ours.

Those maps are absolutely bloody useless for navigating the city. Another brain fart dreamt up by a transit planner who doesn't use transit.

The Lyon Street Station entrance doors were wide open this morning. Anyone could have walked inside.

I would have, but I respected the taped-up "please don't trespass" signs.

You'd have to wait 15 minutes in the open waiting for your bus anyway. Spending 2 minutes in the station pales in comparison.

Does anyone know if platforms are heated or not, I forgot. What's the plan to deal with snow and ice?

That's a possible vision for Toronto's future, according to the 2019 provincial budget — the first for Premier Doug Ford's government.

Left out? A planned hike to the municipal portion of the gas tax revenue, which Mayor John Tory expected would bring roughly $1 billion into city coffers over the next decade.

"We had budgeted ... for much of that committed increase to go towards the state of good repair for the TTC," Tory said on Thursday night, just hours after the budget was unveiled at Queen's Park.

The revenue source was expected to bring in $24 million this year alone to help maintain buses and streetcars, Tory added.

Back in 2017, the former Liberal government first announced a doubling of municipalities' share of gas tax revenue — an apparent consolation prize to Toronto after former premier Kathleen Wynne quashed Tory's request for road tolls on its highways.

The two cents per litre on all the gas taxed under the provincial fuel tax to help fund their public transit networks was set to increase to four cents per litre by 2021.

Killing the hike now was a surprise move from the PCs — and it breaks a campaign promise.

In May 2018, a spokesperson for the Ford campaign told CBC Toronto that municipalities would see no decrease in the money flow and that a PC government would honour the planned increase put in place by the Liberals.

"It is, frankly, a broken commitment that was made and repeated and committed to during the election campaign," Tory said. "And we make our plans based on those commitments. It's very, very disappointing."

Over the next few months, "the government will consult with municipalities to review the program parameters and identify opportunities for improvement," according to the province's budget.

In the meantime, it's just one of several areas of concern for Tory and other city officials.

Passed through Hurdman twice today, Ottawa U once, and looked over Lebreton Flats from Slater and Bay for 15 minutes or so. There didn't appear to be many trains being tested. I only saw one single train running across the Flats, and one single train arriving at Hurdman. It didn't appear to be nearly as significant testing as the last time I was downtown two weeks ago.

This morning (9:30-10:30) there were at least two trains running between Tunney's and Pimisi.

I spotted a few in the western segment around 9 and a few around Hurdman around 11.

At around 3:30 - I saw 6 trains (including 1 or 2 doubles) between OttawaU and Blair while I was on the bus.

It really seems to depend, some days I don't see any, others times a whole bunch...
