I wonder if this thing really did get a height boost? Maybe to the tip its actually 1,514 ft, because hasn’t been changed in the zoning diagrams within the most recent amendment posted.

That's from the original filing, it's the same one referenced on the previous page. Sadly, we will not get that height boost. If the number of floors has been amended, it will be highlighted in yellow.

Yeah its still great. Damn lol... I was really hoping for a suprise. But I guess we have been spoiled. We must accept a 1400 foot tower with grace. But like a little kid would say "I want more ice cream!" I want a mega tall!

It's what we all want. But looking forther here in the latest filing, it's 59 floors...

And with the latest Schedule A, you get the designated, or "marketed" floors. Floor 56 will be the top office floor, also called floor "73". It says 59 will go as observation level 3. 57 and 58 are observation levels 1 and 2.

The highest 4 floors are taller because the first 2 are mechanical and above those two are 2 floors for the observation deck

The Empire State Building, as seen from Tod's Point in Old Greenwich, is already partially obstructed by One Vanderbilt, a new skyscraper being constructed next to Grand Central Terminal.

The nation’s most iconic skyscraper -- visible from Connecticut’s shoreline since the Great Depression and through 9/11 -- is vanishing.

The Empire State Building will be almost completely obstructed by 2020, when construction is scheduled to wrap up on Midtown Manhattan’s newest skyscraper, One Vanderbilt.

The tallest building in the world from 1931 to 1970, when it was supplanted by the World Trade Center, the backdrop for “King Kong” and “Sleepless in Seattle” is already partially hidden.

All but 53 feet of the Empire State Building’s antenna will be blocked by One Vanderbilt, which is next to Grand Central Terminal.

How else would you fix the antenna? A bridgeman with U.S. Steel climbs atop the Empire State Building on Oct. 26, 1950. He's one of 22 structual iron workers who erected a permanent five-station television tower on top of the Empire State Building.

that makes sense why vertical work on the building seems to be stalled. they will install a supercrane on the east side of the building and dismantle the 2 central cranes, so that the lateral crane lifts all the sections for the lattice crown. Until that happens, it seems work on the concrete core and the cladding will be the most noticeable during these days.
