yes, they are adding a cactus club stand alone to the parking lot, phase 1 is the NE corner near the skytrain station and the sears portion of the mall.

That's not what's happening at Brentwood at all. I don't know Oakridge well enough to comment on that project, but Brentwood is certainly building open air market style retail buildings with condo towers on top. They're keeping the existing mall for now, but it's going away in the future as well.

Not from what I'm seeing - AFAIK the open air portion is the roof of the existing mall.

Langley home of the Fraser Valley’s first ever residential Mass Timber development
MARCH 19, 2019 BY PETER MEISZNER

Langley is set to become the home of the Fraser Valley’s first ever residential mass timber development.

Legacy on Park Avenue is the first six storey mid-rise project in the Fraser Valley that uses mass timber in the form of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT). The Canadian Wood Council has confirmed this is also the very first application in Canada for a CLT Firewall.

The project at 204 St. and Park Avenue includes 69 two and three-bedroom condominiums. Construction is underway with completion slated for July 2020.

Built by MDM Construction, the project showcases a unique architectural design made possible by the CLT panels used in its construction. The project’s curved balconies were a key element of the design that could only be brought to fruition with the use of CLT panels.

At Bentwood? Definitely not. There is small interior retail portion in the new retail area, but there are no condos above it.

Oakridge the roof of the mall is becoming a park so not there either.

Looks like it's next to a school

Good riddance to another leaky condo. That school was originally an elementary school but is now a private school and separate investors own the buildings and land. The same owners own the houses immediately to the north of the school on Brookmere Ave, you will see them all redeveloped as a whole in the future. They may own more of the adjacent houses by now.

for those unfamiliar with the area, this is kitty corner to Coquitlam Centre on the SE corner of Lougheed and Barnet, closest skytrain would be Coquitlam Central, I am imagine they could work in an overpass.

A 10-tower development at Lougheed Highway and Christmas Way is in the preliminary planning stages between the developer and the city of Coquitlam.

Marcon Developments, a Langley-based company, has made a pre-application to build six market residential towers, three rental towers and an officer tower on the Coquitlam Chrysler automobile dealership site as well as two properties on Christmas Way and another on Pheasant Street.

According to Marcon Development manager Chris Wilkinson, preliminary plans call for a total of 900 rental units and 2,800 market units, but he stressed the company is still in the early stages of discussion with Coquitlam’s planning department and the heights of the towers have yet to be determined. He also noted the city is in the process of developing a city centre area plan that will influence the project’s planning.

Wow, that is a lot of density for that site. That site is pretty difficult to access. There is only a right-in, right-out intersection at Christmas Way and Lougheed. The only other access at the existing Christmas/Westwood intersection is already a mess.

Evergreen Line has certainly energized things in Coquitlam! The amount of proposals both in city centre as well as Lougheed / Burquitlam is staggering! If realized, they will give Burnaby town centres run for their money!

I think Coquitlam has more tower projects than even Surrey?

I imagine that if the project were approved, a major reconfiguration of Christmas Way would be necessary. A fully signalized intersection would be nice to gain easier access from the south side of Lougheed to the shopping centers to the north, but it's very close to the existing intersection. Not sure what else they can do other than direct access to Lougheed on the west portion of the site.

Multiple major projects being announced weekly at this point. It's mind boggling what's going on along the Millennium Line.

Correction - the Evergreen Extension. The original Millennium Line, outside of Brentwood/Gilmore and Lougheed, is still mainly suburban wasteland almost 20 years later.
