Leaving the via rail station driving towards the queensway onramp on Tramblay Rd, I was shocked when I asked myself, wtf! Is that the Icon poping out in the horizon! That thing is huge!

LOL! I was in Kanata today and heading East over that hill at Moodie Drive I am pretty sure I could spot it. It is skinny from that angle and pretty soon hidden by another building but I am pretty sure that was it!

It looks crazy huge now from all the way down Carling near Carlingwood, even though it's at the bottom of a large depression. Imagine if it WASN'T at the bottom of a depression.

Nice pic, Daud!

I don't know how I never noticed before (since I drive by there every day), but the Icon is visible from the Ogilvie and Aviation parkway intersection (westbound) and it looks like an absolute giant. Definitely unlike anything else in the Nation Capital Region in the present day!

I've seen that exact view and its quite something (yesterday actually). I said to myself, the building is a bit of a game changer. Our perception of what is short medium and tall will slowly start to shift.

This building looks giant from the actual intersection of Carling and Preston. If you are driving and stopped at the light, you need to lean forward, and look up through your windshield to see the top of this one. (normally I find I don't have to do that!)

Great picture by the way! It's neat to see pictures from all different angles that are posted by many different people.

I agree, that you have to look up through a sunroof to see the top of this one, something that would be normal in the GTA or MTL, but certainly not for the NCR until now!

View from rue du Mont-Luc in Gatineau, this morning.

I love how there is always, always haze in this city. We live in a bowl of sediment.

The view of the sky coming in from the south this morning was blue with a yellow brown layer above the skyline. Reminiscent of what I used to see in Madrid and Mexico City. Not sure if temperature and elevations cause this or not...

One of the interesting views of this building is from eastbound Carling around Maitland, especially at the crest of the hill east of Carlingwood Mall. It really makes you realize how long and straight Carling Avenue is as it lines up way in the distance.

The Icon also looks fantastic when viewed from Preston, right as you come out from under the Queensway overpass...gives this part of Ottawa a BIG city feel...

Some great photos of this building! Really appreciate seeing them.

I haven't had much of a chance to head down and take a good look at it yet. Have my fingers crossed the weather will be nice on Easter weekend so I can head down that way. What I can say is on my way to work in the morning on the westbound Queensway, you can just start to see the top of it as you get to the Main Police station on Elgin. The height is looking very impressive!

Another neat view of the Icon is heading west on Smyth, just after Alta Vista and before Riverside. It's basically smack dab in the middle of your sight. Looked really cool!
