^^ This would be a nice addition almost anywhere else in the city, but why the hell can't they take some inspiration from its immediate neighbor; the most attractive building we've got. They could make the glass and exposed panels gold or even green for that matter. How much more could that possibly cost? Push the — bar a little here, bKL!
Pretty underwhelmed. The views west down the river canyon are going to be sweet.
I agree with the suggestion to step back the facade on the east and south elevations to give C&C some breathing room...

That's the issue with bKL. Their entire philosophy seems to hinge on getting stuff built. It's a laudable philosophy for a business - to get projects off the ground - but as architects, it means workmanlike buildings that fit well within the urban fabric but don't astound.

looks like the inspiration came from the other bKL building just a few doors down: https://milachicago.com/
^Yep. When renderings came out, bKL said MILA was inspired by C&C. Albeit lightly. So perhaps their contention now is "inspiration by association". "300 is inspired by MILA which is inspired by C&C. So 300 is basically C&Cs twin."
Should be setback , they should build tall and skinny on the north west corner of the lot so as not to block Carbide so much.
Yes, it could have been as simple as to cut the SW corner slightly at 45 degrees. Maybe do something crazy like step it back more and more each floor with terraces. That wouldn't be sweet at all, having SW facing balconies overlooking C+C, Michigan Ave, then millennium Park. They could even do it without losing much floor space by eliminating the stupid rows of vertical basic — balconies.
