I would imagine that if the feds seriously invested in passenger rail and legislated such that passenger rail travel were more reliable and time sensitive, that more people would consider taking the train.

It is blatantly obvious that government policies dramatically favour air passenger transportation over rail passenger. The resulting discrepancy in usage mirrors this bias........
