It could have been Hamilton, but the convoy with the oversize vehicle 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 had just arrived, so they might have been waiting to move to Hamilton. Nothing had been set up, but it was before 4pm. There were some serious pieces of equipment, but nothing that was obviously 'a crane' so I suspect it was parts of a mega crane that in turn will be able to lift the construction crane up, over, and into the hole in the building. Once the crane is up, I guess we're beyond 'proposed'.

They also say that 19 of 120 footings have been replaced
- so I think that would qualify as construction.

i like the BC Hydro building. its not a terrible looking building and it isn't flat-topped which is nice.

I don't remember where it was posted and when but I think the plan is to have two luffing cranes. I think they are installing the second one next weekend. I remember seeing at some point a plan showing where the cranes were going in and there turning radius and all but it escapes me where that plan came from.

I'll try to get a shot from the library roof when the boom of the new crane is swung out to the west so we can see how far it reaches. I doubt it will reach to Homer Street, though. And it certainly doesn't reach to Dunsmuir Street. So, I'm thinking that there would have to be two cranes for each tower to cover this entire block sized site.

Of course, I'd love to see this site bristling with four luffing cranes.

The idea of 4 luffing cranes makes me

but I am going to be just as happy with 2.

I love the variety in the color we are getting to around the region some white, green, red, yellow, and others too!

The renders of The Post smack of some building in Northern Europe.
Plunking this down in mid-town or central Stockholm or Hamburg would not be a culture shock.

For those hoping for 4 cranes on top of The Post, they may get their wish. There are 4 large brackets that have been on the roof for the last few weeks, one of which now has the crane on top.

It appears there will 2 cranes for each tower.

I'll try to post an image later - any tips on best place to host the image?

I saw those bases on one of mcminsen's pictures, but thought they might be concrete pump towers, rather than two more cranes. We'll see soon enough.

The Feb 15th update showed 2 supports for tower cranes, both along Hamilton (marked "4").
Probably 2 more on the Homer side?
