I think some pages back we all speculated they wanted 2019 all along, and knew the only way to achieve it was to make the deadline a year earlier

I was at Pimisi this afternoon for 15 minutes and I didn't see a single train. I feel cheated I guess that means the 12-day full out running period requisite for handover is still a while yet.

Hmmm, you must have been cheated

I saw multiple trains again once home around 4:15 or so...another double today too. Sorry your timing seems to have not aligned to when they kicked off moving trains again today...

But that got cut in cost-cutting measures somewhere along the way ! <sigh>

PHrenetic, I was thinking of your post and tried to dig up that initial plan. Here it is, from the Final DOTT Business Case. IMO, a significantly better design (at least for the interlining) than what we have now.

Good Day.

Welcome to the forums !

And ....yes, indeed, that was exactly what I was recalling, but could not find it, so made only allusion to it.

Thank You Muchly !

For the nit-pickers.... yes, it would most likely have required a higher C-Line elevation for full and proper headroom for both mezzanine, and T-Line,
but that should and could have been a no-brainer for negligible extra cost on grades east and west of station.

And, for the interliners , and/or the Trillium Line - Fleur-de-Lys Line extension to Tache, or Hull/Gatineau and the TdChaudieres and/or Complexe Portages, you are welcome.

EnJoy.

To nitpick, it would be the Trillium Line - Iris Line. Since 1999, Quebec's floral emblem has been changed from the white lily (fleur de lys) to the Blue Flag Iris (iris versicolore) which is an indigenous plant

Parliament Station. I think Morguard might have enough time to finish the new lobby before the line opens.

Personally, I disagree with having the same paint job on the buses and trains. If I were in charge, I'd have Line 1 and Line 2 trains painted red and green, respectively.

Based on the renders from a few weeks ago, the Trillium Line trains will be getting a whole other paint scheme (better than either the buses or Line 1, in my opinion) so there's at least some differentiation there.

That is still a sore point for me: I find that the Line 1 livery looks very boring and outdated. That and the trains' customizable design (inside and out) should have been chosen through public online surveys (say three options each for paint scheme, nose and interior design). It would have been a very simple way to engage the public and build a sense of pride and ownership.

The new Nova buses are actually getting the Line 1-eque paint scheme, so really the Trillium Line remains unique as it's never shared it's livery with anything else (other than DeutschBahn )

Again that "whoosh" does nothing for the design other than make it look outdated. At least on the bus it will be mostly hidden by advertisement.

I wouldn't trust the renders too much. The livery they had for the confederation line (while yes were from a different group compared to the trillium line) weren't right. Plus later on in the presentation there was a diagram comparing the length of the Flirts to a coupled lints train, and a single lints. The lints were just black and white, while the Flirts had a livery similar to the Talents we had, so different from the renders.

I wish we would have stuck with the look and livery as proposed in the original Confederation Line renderings, which were similar to East-West Connector's stand-ins.

RTG's original.

EWC's stand-in.

Completed train.

I think the trains need more red, and they should have used the bold red circles and dots that are on the stations and stops.

Also if the trains were painted asymmetrically it would make the combinations more interesting like this:
