A year or two from now, when the Bentham is finished, I want to see a before and after photo of that block. The Marlowe, Cedar St Lofts, and Bentham all built in a 3-4 year timeframe. Can we get that on a few more blocks in River North?

How do you figure? This thing is just a basic glass box with no refinement, and has 53 parking spots for only 31 units.

Are you talking about in-person? I haven't seen that any exterior glass has been installed yet.

Investors planning Fulton Market's largest hotel yet

New York-based Standard International announced last week that it has lined up plans to open 12 new Standard hotels around the world, with Chicago as its only new planned location in the United States.

The plan for the Chicago Standard includes a second-floor garage, a gym and event spaces, according to the investment document. The building would be the closest hotel to the United Center on the Near West Side and will also "have different bars and restaurants representative of the operating brand," the document said.

Ogden Avenue? There will need to be some real density on both sides and some pedestrian improvements to jump that I think.

I walked by 717 S Clark street today to find fencing around the site, sanitation moving in, and machinery moving dirt around. That was fast. Now can someone please renovate the buildings on the west side of Clark so they're not all condemned?

Other that the parking lot on the corner, there's just one left. The ArtCraft building is in the final stages of being renovated which just leaves the small garage-ish building which will solve the problem itself by falling down in the next big wind. Everything else is converted or newly built. What really needs to go is the rest of the EAST side.
