The rideau east entrance looks worse than it is. There's a lot of construction junk around it, but it's essentially complete

Also, I think the stage 2 renders answers the mysterious dissapearance of the name decal at Lees and why no other station has a decal yet. I think there was a last minute redesign, they didn't like the decal in real life when they applied it to Lees

Can you point me to a sample shot in the stage 2 renders of the change you see? I hadn’t noticed a difference when I perused them...Cheers

Originally the lanterns in phase 1 had giant 90 degree letters like this:

Borrowing from otrainfans.ca, you'll the approved final design had the name in a black band along with the giant O, and they installed it at Lees

This band is now gone from Lees, just the big O remains, and in the renders for stage 2 the giant 90 degree names are back with the big O as well

That seems really odd. I like the black banded sign the best.

Will we see an article from the CBC on this accomplishment?
We've seen a huge leap forward this week, testing wise. Today on the Queensway, it took us about 5 minutes to get from St-Laurent to Blair. During that time, we saw 4-5 trains going back and forth. Exciting stuff!

Still not convinced they can meet the March 31 deadline, but I believe May 1 (full year over schedule) would be realistic.

Can't help but wonder what could have been done had we invested that extra billion on Stage 1. Maybe put in an extra $200 million in the tunnel to provide more architecturally striking stations and extend the rail west to Lincoln Fields (had they figured out the Dominion-Lincoln Fields route at that time), following the architectural language of the initial line.

I hope they revise the service hours. I don't see the point of starting train service at 5am, not when the first connexion buses only start their routes at ~5:30. 6am-1am would be a lot better than 5-midnight, especially on Friday nights.

The negotiations with the NCC to allow an extension to Lincoln Fields would have delayed stage 1 by several years. The deal for Stage 2 wasn’t reached until 2015. Maybe it could have been done a bit faster had the entire project been on the line, but maybe not.

I hope they don't make the service start any later. On weekdays, there are people who need to be at work by 6am. On weekends, there are lots of people who participate in all-day Saturday activities, which often start by 9am.

That's what I thought too. In Vancouver, skytrain starts at 5 a.m. even on weekends.

This discussion makes we wonder when OC Transpo will reveal their night bus service map. We know the night buses exist, like the N57, but they haven't provided a service map
