Reading week for colleges and universities begin this upcoming week, it will be interesting. The summer will also be an interesting time for parking as well.

Thanks, I had looked at the plan before but didn't connect Kelowna Flightcraft with "KFaero"... so it now makes sense to me.

The Dubin flight is showing as a seasonal destination but it was first announced as year round. Tried booking and it only allows up to Oct 26. Anyone know why?

The airport's website showcases Dublin on the route map as seasonal only. I think if demand warrants, they will make it year round.

Hamilton and the surrounding region need to use this service, or we're gonna lose it. I have family flying to Europe through Dublin, saving us around $300 a ticket. The only downside is that they have to switch carriers and terminals at the airport because Norweigan has limited connections from Dublin.

The overflow parking lot at the museum has been set up once again, already looks like passengers are using the Valet service. The main parking area looks pretty full and will only get more crowded come March Break.

No that's the parking for the boat and fishing show this weekend. Overflow was set up during reading week where cargojet parks north of the warplane ramp and it has been taken down

Last summer stupid me assumed I could walk into the airport and there would be an area I could walk right into where there would be huge windows where I could watch planes land and take off lol. I've never flown out of this airport or any airport for that matter (never been on a plane). I guess only those with boarding tickets that get past security would find such a viewing area?

So without a ticket where would be the best place to watch planes land and take off here when the weather is nicer of course? I assume the outside perimeter somewhere, where would I park and how far would I have to walk?

Also same question for Pearson if anyone knows the answer. Thank you

Aircraft watching at yhm can be tricky because its not a really busy airport so on a calm summer day runway usage can vary. overall your best bet is to go to the south side of the airport to the end of Glancaster Rd the take the road to the right l, headed towards the tower. just before the gate there is a small parking area on the right side. From here you can see anything landing on the main runway. if it's a really windy day with winds out of the southwest then park along dickenson road you can clearly see the runway.

As for Pearson if the winds are from the southwest then park at the wendys on airport road. if the north or north west you can park on Director Gate and Dixie road. these sports are for runway 23-05 with south west winds you can also park in the parking lot beside Arizonas Bar and grill on carlingview drive this will get you in a spot for 24L and 24R. these are a few of the best spots.

There are some other spots too. if you do a Google search you can find more details.

Also if you want to see whats coming you definitely need to download Flightradar24

There are a few roundabouts along the west end of runway 12/30 that can be good too depending on what runway is being used, though the site mentioned by urban_planner is nearest the middle of 12/30 and close to a couple taxiways as well.

You can also park on the side of Dickenson Rd. or Airport Rd. and watch planes from the ends of 06/24 (there are some spots where there are short gravel turn-ins leading to fence gates where you may be able to park a bit more safely, though those roads aren't very busy).

South: Southcote Rd., also the bend where Glancaster turns east toward the tower
North: Southcote, Smith Rd., Glancaster (probably the best one on that side)

Norweigan has grounded all 737-8 MAX aircraft due to the incident that occurred on Sunday.

This could cause a disruption to the new YHM-DUB service slated to start at the end of the month.

Who knows, maybe we'll see a 787

This is a result of Norweigan grounding all their 737-8 MAX, which they were going to use on the YHM-DUB route. There may be more adjustments forthcoming

Yup. The launch of the Dublin route will now start in early May instead of March 31st.

Heard that the director of operations for the airport either got fired or quit abruptly and that another ops manager is leaving. Also did Swoop get rid of some flights out of Hamilton? A friend got 2 of their flights moved later this month. Maybe something is happening and people are jumping ship. Sounds like Canada Jetlines is focussing on the primary airports and now Norwegian is delayed. Air Canada is done at the end of the month. At least the cargo is doing good, that's the airports life boat.

Swoop has condensed some flights over the next couple weeks (I'm assuming due to lower loads). My flight next Monday (YEG-YHM) got merged into an earlier flight. Flair did the same last year over the winter at Hamilton.

I haven't heard anything about any major issues with airport staff.

Flair has been delaying the release of there summer schedule and I think its an area of concern as well (I heard Flair wanted to do YWG-YLW, YEG-OAK routes but Swoop announced them, maybe they are just restrategizing their summer plans).

On top of all the issues, Norweigians launch from YHM is also delayed. Will be interesting to see if Passenger numbers will increase significantly this year.
