Edmonds only has one entrance. They used to leave the emergency exit open but bolted it shut when they put faregates in. They planned on adding an entrance on the south side of the station (to connect with the City in the Park development) but haven't done anything about it for decades.

I am filled with shame.

I supposed YVR-Airport has multiple entrances, too.

Columbia has three, the two you've mentioned plus one that comes out on Clarkson Street. You can barely see it in this Google Street View.

Given recent events, I wonder if SNC is bidding. If they are, I hope they lose.

Short of SNC-Lavalin being prohibited from bidding on contracts with any Federal funding, the company has a fiduciary duty to its shareholders to pursue commercial opportunities wherever they exist. With its track record of success winning and building rapid transit in Metro Vancouver, the SNC-Lavalin Board really doesn't have a choice: the company must bid on the Broadway subway.

SFUVancouver is right. but Aroundtheworld is what i am hoping is happens. there must be a company from Western Canada that could do it; screw Quebec.

also, i am going to bet that there will be an entrance at Oak St and a 2nd entrance close to Laural. that is my prediction.

They were also awarded the Evergreen contract - that went overtime, but otherwise fairly well.

Given how divided the mayors were back then about the line and how some of them kept barking it'll go overbudget, it's not a surprise they went with the cheaper option. I don't see how you can blame SNC-Lavalin for that. The whole line had to go through some sort of cost cutting measure on every component just so the opposing mayors would shut up.

Government has to pick the cheapest bid, with very few exceptions.

Yep, the union rules don't affect this besides making it more complicated for companies to bid on it and likely increasing the bids.

no, i am generally fine with the Canada-Line and i don't blame them for the station sizes either. i am also happy that it was underground and not elevated so the median could be maintained.

what i am tired of is Corrupt Quebec companies. time to start making sure Western Canadians get something instead of always corrupt Quebec.
