BlackRock eyes 725 Ponce for new Atlanta iHub

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news...a-ihub.html?iana=hpmvp_atl_news_headline

BlackRock Inc. has entered final negotiations to lease multiple floors at 725 Ponce, a new 12-story office building along the Beltline’s Eastside Trail.

The New York-based global asset management firm and the project’s developer New City have worked on a lease in the range of 200,0000 square feet, according to commercial real estate sources. Last October, BlackRock announced it chose Atlanta for an innovation center that over the next several years could grow to almost 1,000 employees.

Hopefully once they have tenants signed it’ll be an impetus to shaft phase 2 and the GA power redevelopment. O4W has been relatively quiet lately with few new projects breaking ground. Would love to see 725 P phase 2 and GA power go under construction along with the NORTH ave BRT and EST LRT buildout to downtown and Lindbergh.

Also, 1105 looks a little shorter than I imagined, maybe it's the angle?

my guess on 1105 is 420 or so ft. shortening the architectural top probably cut off 40 ft? boy a 500-600 footer would look so great there still, very inpressive sweet mixed use and imo very good architecture (maybe a little mimical though)

Construction on 712 West Peachtree could start by early summer. No tenants have been announced yet for the project.

I forgot about the 712 W Peachtree. If all these projects break ground as expected, Midtown will have 6 office towers under construction simultaneously.

Potentially more if you consider NS & MU are two separate office towers per project. Add in 1105, Cousins @ 8th st, Anthem, Portman’s 3rd... I may be missing another.

I was not counting Anthem because it will probably be finishing up by the time all of the forthcoming towers get into full blown construction. There is only one office tower in phase 1 of Midtown Union.

1105 WP
901 WP
Midtown Union
Norfolk Southern x 2
712 WP

That's 712 WP.

However, there's the possibility of the Georgia Tech MBA parcel to develop at the NE corner of Spring & 5th St.

I always thought MU's first phase was both of these towers:

The parcel at Spring and 5th IS the the Tech Square Phase 3.

The 712 West Peachtree parcel is the 3rd Phase of Portman's work.

GT is starting to explore options for the Spring & 5th parcel. Expect to see the demolition of the two buildings close to the Biltmore soon.

Yeah, I'm referring to the 5th and Spring project. Excited to see complete renderings for that.

Y'all killing me with semantics. Seems we agree.

Why I mentioned 712 WP & Tech Sq. 3. From today's Portman Midtown #3 article:
"Portman moving forward on third Tech Square tower

By Amy Wenk
Staff Writer, Atlanta Business Chronicle

A veteran Atlanta developer is gearing up for its third tower at Midtown’s Technology Square."

That rendering is one tower.
