Montreal does have a lot of very nice lighting features.
I also heard someone say recently that it's actually one of the worst cities in the world for light pollution.
Just googling it I found this article. Not sure how accurate it is but Montreal and Toronto rank 3 and 5 in terms of metro areas. Calgary and Edmonton are high up on the city rankings.
