You missed his point and mine. The neighbourhood isn’t in the middle of nowhere. Even if it’s not finished being developed it’s surrounded by a lot of different things. The Sahara desert is in the middle of nowhere.

You should post pics of what you can buy in Altadire or the Beltline for $415,000. You’d be lucky if you get a small outhouse sized place. Especially in the Beltline where for that money you can get a place with just enough room to play scrabble on your iPhone.
Why are you bringing up Beltline. He’s talking about houses in Redstone.

Suburban tactic: When you have nothing of value to add, make unfounded irrelevant jab at Beltline.

Let’s do a recap for all of the strugglers.
- Littlechilds posts photo update of 4 unit townhouse development in Altadore. Units cost $799k
- Peacatter comments; why not just buy a house?
- Director of Hindsight looks up home prices in Altadore. A same sized single family house in Altadore is listed at $1.4ish million.
- Peacatter says; location doesn’t matter when attempting to be taken seriously comparing property in a discussion
- Sad Panda says you could get a house for a third of the cost as the townhouse and the same square footage. But not just one, there are thousands all over the city.
- Director of Hindsight; Proof that’s not true. There are only 4 houses in the whole city for a third of the price and the largest of those is half the size.
- Sad Panda; oh I was exaggerating (another who will never be taken seriously). I mean half the price.
- Director of Hindsight; The cheapest 2000 sq ft house in the inner city (we’re still comparing Altadore) is in Inglewood for $588k. 3/4 not half.
- Southern Fusili; Let me show you houses you can get in the middle of nowhere that has zero comparison to Altadore for $400-$440k.
- middleofnowhere; posts about trees and perennials
- SteveyWunder; Inner city and Beltline are overpriced
- Angry crowd; I can get a similar house for way less. Location is meaningless. I never leave the interior of my home so what does it matter. It’s the engineered floor, the porcelain tile, the granite countertops, the trex deck and the Costco that make my life complete.
- Sad Panda; a neighbourhood built out in a barren field is not in the middle of nowhere if there is a row of houses across the street.
- thenotsogoodlife; Hey man, the Beltline man, it’s ya know, crummy I tell ya. Show me what you can get in Altadore or Beltline for $415k.

Show me what you can get in Dauphin Manitoba for $415k since we’re no longer worried about Altadore.

The Sahara Desert isn’t in the middle of nowhere. It covers 25% of Africa.

I've read your post and don't understand it. Who's director of hindsight and peacatter?

Also I don't see any posts of place in the Beltline or Altadore for 400-500K. I assume it's because you already know that they can't compete for value. I'm also confused on why you keep mentioning Dauphin, Manitoba? Bangladesh has even cheaper houses than Dauphin, but you need to look at places here in Calgary. This is where we work. The commute to Dauphon is a we bit long.

Let’s see those houses in Bangladesh. Or is it because you already know they can’t compete for location?

They can't compete for location because they are in another city or another country. Location doesn't matter within the city you work in. If you can easily get to your place of work, you're good to go.

Looking at the same realty website that Western Spaghetti was using I see that if you bump the price range from 400-450 up to 450-500K, you can get up into another tier of housing and it's still far, far cheaper than those Altadore rowhomes.

These are also in the northwest (I know some people have a thing against the northeast.

Evanston

Hansen's Ranch

Sherwood
(Pic from the basement) One of the great things about not living in an apartment)

Tuscany

The MLS? Groundbreaking.

Evanston, Sherwood, Tuscany? What’s your point?

I would suggest referring to Suburbia's definition of 'inner sprawl' when talking about Mount Royal, Roxboro, etc.. and the inner city as downtown/Beltline and probably Sunalta too.

Excellent examples. If you go up another $100K to the 550-600K range, you can find some fantastic homes, and they're still $250K less than Altadore places, and the price of a broom closet in the Beltline or Eau Claire..

And then one day they all left

Most of those people were pretentious urban libtards who weren't able to like anything outside of the inner city boundaries. Secondly some of those people simply disappeared as is the case with all Internet forums. Thirdly, did you ever consider some might have left on your account?

Anything with a walk score mid 50s and below.

You can see the list mid page. Click "See all Calgary neighborhoods".
https://www.walkscore.com/CA-AB/Calgary

Highlights:
- Redstone; doesn't even make the list but we'll give it a pass as it's a pretty new neighbourhood
- Skyview 8; transit 16
- Taradale 39; transit 51
- Auburn Bay 17; transit 30
- Arbour Lake 46; transit 43
- Tuscany 38; transit 31
- Evanston 36; transit 24
- Hansen's Ranch & Sherwood where??? hahahahaha

You nailed it on all accounts. Also don't forget that when SurrealPlaces left that is when the photo and info posts took a huge hit. Since he was the equivalent of a drug dealer to many of them they followed him to his new site to keep getting their hits. A lot of the info posted over there is coming from public sources so it's crazy for anyone to think it's insider info. No one is going to risk their jobs or getting sued by posting insider info so a small group of urbanistas can get off.
