I can confirm that (as of the EDC meeting in November) the plans for the Wedge included a mix of 550, 650 and 900 sq. ft. residential units. There will be a single CRU on the ground floor with access via Jasper as well as the laneway (which they want to activate, similar to Crawford Block).

It appears that Melcor isn't too keen on having the Birks diamond relocated, but we will see if they can be convinced...

It would be mean spirited of Melcor not to do it if the cost is minor or at least shared.

The Wedge: perhaps one or two storeys too high...but I don't care either way.

It's nice we're getting all these tall towers, but sometimes it's the smaller ones that make an impact. The Edge and this comes to mind.

^This looks promising.

New mixed-use residential tower looking to make a 'Wedge' on Jasper Avenue.

The pink mural on the west side of the building is awful.

Had a cold, but interesting tour of the Brighton Block today thanks to Mr. Cantor. This will be one of the coolest spaces for lease when complete and perhaps the best patio in the city.

NAIT expansion at Blatchford

This is great news. Hopefully it stimulates Blatchford development which has had glacial progress.

NAIT’s main campus will nearly double in size after buying 13 hectares of Blatchford land from the city, becoming the “anchor tenant” for the green development on the site of the former municipal airport.

The deal announced Wednesday makes way for the school’s long-term plan to consolidate students on its central campus. Blatchford borders the school to the north and west.

NAITs acquisition of additional Blatchford land is huge.

What a win win win.

It’s good that NAIT wants to do student housing as the next step although imo the location of the new parkade should have been the housing location so as to try to breath some life into an underutilizes street.

Nait has fine a good job with the campus East of 104st except for that parkade. It's an absolute travesty in how it isolated the campus and turned its back on the neighborhood.

Sounds like there is fencing up around the CNIB building. Looks like the project is about to begin!
