Not stucco. It’s stone or brick. There’s a sign for a masonry company on the hoarding.

Another boring suburban crap design. https://www.reveraliving.com/about-revera/coming-soon

Worst part is that the people who’ll live there will be less safe than the people in the Beltline lol

I'm curious if all the lawsuits against Revera for abuse will impact projects like this. Apparently there are ~85 law suits across the country (I posted about four Calgary families suing them in the crime forum) each looking for an average of $2.5M for abuse, negligence causing injury, negligence causing death, etc. Apparently they have among the lowest staff to resident ratios. Problem for those requiring services like this is that demand continues to outstrip supply.

The university is the one that holds all the cards for developing the site....they always have. They have been pretty clear in the past that they won't sell it and that any redevelopment on that site has to have their best interests in mind.

A Genie? Whatever that is. Looks like a low budget hatchet job.

If you're not familiar with Josh White's Common Ground YYC podcast, this week is a great listen with Michael Brown CEO of CMLC. Some information about the Event Centre near the end.

Getting back on track, multifamily construction in Seton - there's at least eight different projects in these two images including the one I'm standing in and there's more going up aside from these projects. All within easy walking distance of shopping, dining, movie theaters,a leisure centre, a high school and the south hospital as well...

Biggest crime is not from the housing home. Biggest crime is Canadians are lazy and don’t take care of senior citizen as is the normal obligation those people would have proper care and there aren’t lawsuits.
The real crime is the culture of seniors citizens are tossed to seniors homes

Canadians are lazy? You need to get a clue. You should also try working a 40 hour a week job, and raising two kids and looking after your parents on top of that. Get a clue!

Just when I think you can't say something more stupid than previously you come through with this gem.

Canadians aren’t lazy in general, but I kind of agree with you in regards to looking after parents. My parents live with my sister and I take them from time to time when she gets overloaded. In Asian culture children looking after their parents is more the norm. It’s something that’s expected.

The parts of the city that look like that are mostly 1960's inner sprawl. Had the developments from 1960-1970 been replaced by developments of 2010-present, the city would physically be much smaller now.

There has been no developments since around 1980 that have such a massive sea of 1K sf bungalows on 6K sf lots. That reality of the inner sprawl is puke worthy. That being said, even then, the image to which you refer is more intensively developed than Calgary's inner sprawl as it does not waste an additional 1K sf per lot on back alleys.

Its a very important point. While there are circumstances where the elderly need specialized care, many of those in assisted living scenarios simply are left with no option as there is no space for them in their kids' Beltline apartments.
