Checking out the LES.NET camera really shows the progress being made on the apartment tower. I was wondering: how long does the construction crew have to wait after pouring a level of concrete before raising the forms again and pouring the next level? Does the concrete need a certain length of time to set or is it weather dependent? Just asking, 'cause I don't know!

^ the concrete needs to cure to a minimum compressive strength before you can continue to build up. This time of year (as you can imagine) is a bit challenging to cure concrete.

You need to protect and heat it for several days (sometimes a week or more).

This core also needs to achieve a high degree of strength, so they are going slowly.

I noticed yesterday there are 2 beams poking up on the south west side of the core, out of view in the picture.

^Those are the ones where the crane is attached? Looks like those will form the outside edge of the tower.

I couldn't tell from the angle I was at but the beams were vertical, not the horizontal ones the crane is sitting on.

The platform that the crane sits on actually has a vertical beam rising from each corner of the platform. They have been that way since before the crane went up and I assumed that they are only temporary to anchor the platform to the roof of Winnipeg Square.

Just cause they were sticking up so high, which seems pointless to me, I assumed they are part of the permanent tower. Time will tell.
