The idea of the ramp is to relieve some of the traffic off Dieppe Blvd.

Nope Off Ramp. Although as pointed out by MonctonRad they did cut down trees, and it looks like there is an on ramp planned

An ON ramp there however is a different issue. They did some basic work there last year (land clearing), but there was no major grading etc. In some ways it would make sense to complete the project, but I suppose a traffic study might be necessary to determine if it would be worthwhile.

One thing an on ramp there would do is to allow alternate access to 11/15 northbound for semis leaving the Dieppe Industrial Park so that they would not have to deal with the dog bone roundabout at the Dieppe Blvd/Harrisville Blvd interchange.

That Makes sense. Although when we drove by it seemed not to have been cleared so all the Trucks went onto the Harisville/Dieppe Blvd off ramp.

That along with machinery still parked in the area made it look like it was still in development, and also there is the Issue when I got home it seems google map is using a non existent off ramp to get from Valley redemption centre on Toombs to the one on Babin Street.

The off ramp exists I have used it as have many of our cab drivers so not sure why it isn't plowed unless they made it seasonal

Yes, that's what I meant/said... the OFF ramp has been open for months, I use it several times a week. Not sure what OP was talking about.

It is plowed. I used it today as a matter of fact. It's a well designed ramp and very convenient. I hope they do finish construction of the on ramp too.

CBC article discussing the new UNI Dieppe arena complex:

Construction starts on Dieppe arena as Riverview plans rec centre
2 greater Moncton major recreation projects move ahead
Shane Magee · CBC News · Posted: Jan 25, 2019 4:00 AM AT | Last Updated: January 25
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-bruns...bX-7WLhOyPeyU2OcFdmwU0srJwZ-xrErDc2v9Wlk

The article contains several renderings of the new arena complex, two of which I have not seen before:

Quote:
Centennial Arena, built in 1967, will be demolished in spring 2020, months before the anticipated fall 2020 completion of the new arena.

The city will have a total of four ice pads once it is complete, up from three.

The main rink in the new arena will have about 1,000 seats while the second will have about 65 seats.

It will also have an indoor walking track, a community kitchen, a greenhouse, and community rooms that can hold up to 150 people.

From l'Acadie Nouvelle, a significant project is planned between Place 1604 and Gauvin Rd:

À Dieppe, M. Lapierre affirme que plusieurs projets permettront de transformer le centre-ville de la cité acadienne en 2019. Une importante construction est prévue entre la Place 1606 [sic] et la rue Gauvin, mais il refuse d’en dire plus pour l’instant.

Between place 1604 and Gauvin road there’s only the refrigirated skating oval and a surface parking lot. I wonder if there are plans to build over that lot.

I’ve also heard from a fairly good source that a 7-storey residential building may be in the works near the corner of Acadie and Allain-Gillette streets.

There have been projects floating around for a while since even before the City of Dieppe said they wanted a real downtown. This might not be a project actually planned for the city but based of rumors that have been spread.

Example: Before the Mathieu Martin High School was built there were rumors floating around that Champlain Mall would be built on Champlain Street with Addresses between 361-605 with Mathieu Martin then Not yet named being built behind it. still next to the CCNB Dieppe Campus next door on College Street. Also The Centenaire Arena was planned not on the books but to be built on the land occupied by Bass Pro Shop.

If a rumour has been floating around for 45 years, it's probably safe to say it's dead

I'm not sure if this has to do with what they're referring to, but according to the Service NB's property assessment website, the last empty lot on the corner of Champlain and Rue du Marche (currently used as a dirt parking lot) was sold in December for approx. $354,000.

True.
But some rumors curently floating around are based on rumors from as far back as even 50-60 years ago. Also will point out some rumors are being spread because of a High School project that was 15-20 years ago. Yeah I would like to thank a Teacher for that

I think the rumours might be all in your head bud. In order for it to be a rumour, it has to be more than just you talking about it lol.

I just heard from a reliable source that Sira may be preparing for another large apartment complex a la Horizon Place. This might have some relevance to the Dieppe mayor's musings.

My source, although reliable, had no additional info, and if true, he isn't even sure if it is going to be built in Moncton or Dieppe. We will have to keep a close eye on this one though. If this ends up in Dieppe, then that city will be really starting to develop a skyline.........

I didn’t see a site plan for my own eyes but was told that it would be built on the left side heading towards the back of the Lot. The two building would be perpendicular to each other.
