Hey Chad, does that proposal for the arts centre preserve the Teatro building? I ask because that future condo tower seems to be sitting pretty close to where it currently stands.

Teatro is on the SW corner, the residential tower is on the NW corner. Teatro will be incorporated into the phase one development of the new theatre spaces.

Sorry for the size of this one, but the detail of it makes the proposal a lot better than it otherwise could be for me.

For anyone who is unfamiliar with Calgary's Macleod Trail, it's sort of like Vancouver/Burnaby's Kingsway, mixed with a dash of the 7th layer of hell, so this project would be a big step forward.

Where on Macleod is that going? I like all the fantasy buildings around it.

I can no longer find the post on SRC, and there's no info on the project site.

Also, not sure if this is a "proposal" exactly, but it is the massing diagram for East Victoria Park/Entertainment District. This includes the proposed new convention centre, the opera centre, and the Calgary Arena and Event Centre.

Pretty sure that Macleod trail one is located at the log cabin lot.

Reminds me of LeBreton Flats (if it doesn't die by end of February).

What's so wrong with it? I am not a proponent of it in any way, but I just don't see it as particularly horrible.

If it helps, here's a rendering form a different angle.

And the final design for the first two buildings.

Hopefully, this is legit cause the website itself says 2017. Would be great since it'll be this + the MAA condos next door

Wait, two Ottawa projects were mentioned in the previous page. I think ssiguy was referring to the one in the Byward market and not Zibi. Zibi looks great, but that Claridge proposal looks pretty bad. But now that I think about it, maybe you were also talking about Claridge's proposal... in this case I have to disagree with you and I think it looks bad. It would be just fine without the desperate and cheap attempts at making it look original.

That would be great if it was. Talk about a completely made up site in the rendering though. If it’s the log cabin site then it will be built into a hill.

That hotel looks ugly. It looks like a giant hard drive that was deformed and squeezed into an urban area.

I thought he meant Zibi.
