One nice thing about looking down 5th/6th streets - no nasty power lines! Has it always been this way or are the developers burying them? Either way, it goes to show how much of an impact burying power lines can have. I wish this would happen more often citywide, especially in our denser-developing areas. Mueller is another nice example.
It's shocking how low our height limits and how high our parking requirements are for our TODs. It's as though we don't want community benefits that developers are willing to opt-in on and we must not want to foster transit... All of our TODs need a serious reboot.

How long will Austinites tolerate NIMBY politicians?
Honestly this photo really struck me because it shows how the critical mass of projects in this area (along with several large pockets throughout the city) are fundamentally rewriting the DNA of the city of Austin. Looking out here across a canopy of roofs instead of oaks...future generations will know Austin to be something very different than previous ones have.

GREAT roof shot. We're witnessing a new part of the city come online. Between this critical mass and 183 South tollway, 2019-20 is going to be amazing for East Austin.
I do too, even though it somewhat reminds me of 801 Barton Springs which as you all know I hate, it has so many elements that makes it very appealing unlike 801, plus it fits in at that location which 801 doesn't, and wouldn't at either location. It just goes to show that some designers actually care about how nice their buildings will look and some have no clue how to design an attractive building. This little beauty proves my point.
