Gr333n Took this picture at about 2:30am from a friends balcony at 740 W Fulton. The ambient light in this city is F***in awesome!

I don't remember ever hearing about an anchor tenant for 1375 W. Fulton. Must be building on spec.

I really like that glass/facade

I wonder if due to the 1,500+ foot buildings going up in NYC it'll spark a competition between NY and Chicago like the old days. It'd be nice to get in on some of this action.

Here. Also the one near Hayden here.

Anyone been by Wabash + Cermak recently? Prairie District neighbors is saying that excavation has already begun on the 275 unit tower (hotel on the corner is a separate phase).

Everything I’m seeing looks horrible. No. More. Podiums. You can still have above ground parking without the podium effect.

Gr333n Panes of glass ready to go. Looks like it's going to be stick built and glazed in the field.

I hope the plan is still to connect the hotel and residential podiums, and to have the hotel built out to the lot line. That should greatly lessen the podium effect especially along Cermak. The previous podium design seemed to be more cohesive and less offensive to the pedestrian experience though.

FWIW Sterling Bay has started making the marking components of its newer developments able to be easily converted into office space (Gr333n I believe is one)

It seems in Chicago (cities like Miami too) the fact that the groundwater is so high it almost gives the developers an excuse to build parking podiums. Whereas in other cities newer developments seem to have less parking because there is no excuse to build a parking podium and thus you have to go down which is more expensive.

The T-mobile on Wabash and Randolph closed and moved to their new location a block south on Wabash. Also saw a sign for Popeyes to open up across the street, next to TCBY. Looks like a good sign for that garage to be demo’d

The 12 W Maple zoning application is online now. Top height to be 330 feet. Also will include ground floor restaurant and commercial. Only 16 parking spaces.

Or perhaps they're just removing the buildings to lower their tax assessments while they wait to sell more units.
