It won't be long. I'll go with a March start for demo.

Won’t be too long. I think the sign being up is an indication it’s starting soon. I’m guessing sometime early spring we’ll see some action.

Hi folks, I asked about this earlier, does anyone know what's being built at this location? It's a big lot that's been empty for a while, but there have been some worker dudes on site a couple of times in the last while.

Try the city's development permit map.

Honestly, I couldn't care less if it stayed the way it is. Why someone feels the need to have a bigger house is beyond me, but whatever.

There could be lots of reason for why someone might want a bigger house.

Just don't ever question need for a massive house or you'll be labeled as being jealous. Of course there's no chance the owner isn't compensating for something

It’s due to the latest stupid Hollywood trend where tv shows and movies make rich people who have houses or fancy sports cars look like bad people.

In reality some people like to own nice things.

Well duh, of course you’ll be labeled jealous. There is no other reason for taking offence to someone building a mansion style crib.

Think of the planet, and what a waste it would be if everyone aspired to own a massive hulk of a house.

You might find this enlightening

Nothing on the planning and development map, but the MyProperty system has historical permits:

DP2015-4789 is Released. Permit issued on 2016-01-22. Job is Revision: Multi-Residential Development (parkade and main floor changes, tree locations, guardrails, structural changes)

DCP2016-0260 is Pending Inspection. Permit created on 2016-02-16. Job is DP2015-4789 Revision: Multi-Residential Development (parkade and main floor changes, tree locations, guardrails, structural changes)

Electrical Permit (EP2017-06919) is Completed. Permit issued on 2017-05-27.

Commercial / Multi Family Project (BP2015-14315) is Issued Permit. Permit
issued on 2016-07-27. Project scope was NEW 4-STOREY APARTMENT BUILDING.

So Development permits were released and building permits issued for a new apartment building summer of 2016, then work never proceeded.

Because of this I assume all permits have expired by now.

It doesn't really explain why there would be construction guys at the site lately.

Try checking on the city's website. They have a website with all of the permits etc.... Also try 'my property' at the city's website. My guess would be a small multi-family building of 8-10 units.

Thanks. What would really be helpful would be links to those sites. I can poke around in them.

It actually isn't. If you read through the 5 points that she makes, and consider each point, they do make sense. You just need to be in the right frame of mind.
