I like the look of this tower. Has anyone heard anything about when they may start on it?

Well Century has their hands full with 3CP until August now so I'm assuming it's not likely to start this year.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say 2020 construction start on phase 1 of this.

By then, it will only have been 12 years since the development application was submitted back in 2008. Lol.

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if the city planned on buying the land and putting it into Holland Park lol.

Lol. Well the application is now 10 years old - submitted in 2008. So would imagine a new one will be the first step.

Yeah not sure why you'd bother submitting an application if you're going to sit on it for 10 years. Unforeseen I suppose.

Pretty sure the application pre-dates 3CP

As much as I hate to say it I can see this project waiting until Phase C or even D sells out at King George Hub...which would be another 3-5 years I'm guessing.

With everything going on around this project you would think they would working on getting this project ready to sell.

Hey I found this on the Web but sorry if someone else has already posted it. https://www.buzzbuzzhome.com/ca/holland-gardens1 I think they may be a little wrong on the sale date.

very nice, yet inevitably more of the same

I didn't realize this one was as large as it is. Great value and features, I am sure, similar prices and demographics as are often the case, but also epitomizing Metro growth. Nice archetype.

Address says 98 and King George, but isn't that the site of the Avani Centre? I thought this was about a block north, on the edge of Holland Park across from Coast Capital. Anyways nice to see that this project is moving ahead.

Seems like a typo. This would be at "98A Street" not 98 Street. Adjacent to Coast Capital Hq and the 70s rectangular apartment tower.

I checked and Holland Pointe / Gardens (did they change the name?) is listed as 15383 98th Ave and Avani Centre is listed as 15386 98th Ave.

Found this on the Surrey Site:

https://apps.surrey.ca/Online-Development-Inquiry/?year=18&seq=0217

Basic summary:

Rezoning from C-35 to CD; Subdivision to create 4 lots from 5 existing and Development Permit to allow 952 residential units and 25459.15 sq.m. of commercial space to be located within a 13 storey office building, residential (market housing) towers of 36 and 42 storeys and a 15 storey rental building with a daycare on the ground floor.

So:
  • 13 storey Office Building
  • 36 Storey Condo (market housing) tower
  • 42 Storey Condo (market housing) tower
  • 15 Storey Rental tower w/Daycare

If this gets built, this would put the mark at 21 high rises within 1 block of King George Skytrain station after build out making that area by far the most dense neighborhood in Surrey Central.
