I guess changing the design would've been an RTG decision. They probably needed to save time and money after the sinkhole. The intricate ceiling design probably would've hindered them from meeting the handover date which they ended up missing anyway.

The font on the wall looks like a Microsoft word font- Calibri. Although it's consistent with other stations, it looks cheap compared to the font in the rendering.

I’m with kmcamp and will reserve judgement until I see it in person. Besides I’m more of a function over form type person, not to say aesthetics are not valuable.

.... and wrong point of view and not the same lens... The render, in classic 35mm terms, looks like a 28mm-ish lens while the mobile upload looks like a 50mm. World of difference.

For the "R I D E A U/Rideau", someone brought up a good point in the tweet's comment section. They probably changed the font and colour for accessibility, as in improved visibility. I do hope they have this feature (station name written on the wall, this size, this font) at all stations in order to keep it consistent.

He was involved in perennial disputes and rarely got anything productive done. His name is perfect for the flats.

From this angle it doesn't look as bad (including the big sign on the wall), although it clearly looks a lot more cheap than the rendering.

It's odd that the lines that are visible on the walls (under the paint) are also in the wood ceiling. Could be a design feature.
