aceted Luxury Condo Proposed Across Bloor from the ROM

An application submitted to the City of Toronto seeks rezoning and Site Plan Approval for a new 29-storey condominium tower at 210 Bloor Street West, just across the street from the Royal Ontario Museum. The site is currently home to the two-storey Remenyi House of Music. The plan from developer Tribute Communities calls for a Core Architects-designed tower rising 111.4 metres in height, containing ground floor retail with condominium units above.
You couldn’t even be bothered to show us a render of the project? Or give us more info about it? Why should we care? This is not a Toronto forum.
Yeah man, didn't even post the link, just like part of the URL

Not a working link. You have to copy it and open it yourself in another window. Not a big deal, but how many forumers will actually do it compare to how many forumers would have just enjoyed the render if it was posted in the thread? It’s just a matter of being user friendly. But if it’s just me, so be it. Enjoy and cheers!
Fucking reall? Another condo across from the ROM? This looks like it could have some brutal spandrel treatment. I'd much rather see this area remain more commercial as it's history has brought it to be.
Where do you see spandrel? Also it's replacing a 2 storey building with one commercial tenant. It's not as though an entire strip is disappearing. As for the history of the area? Is it not always evolving? More people along the strip will add to more need for more retail and entertainment in the area. In the description I posted it says the ground floor will have retail so no retail is going to be lost here.
The majority of the east and west elevations are (curtain wall) spandrel
Sorry but curtainwall glazing is generally spandrel free, window wall is the spandrel application on most condos. 210 Bloor West's east and west facades would be a tessellated pattern of interlocking triangles of tinted and reflective curtainwall glazing.
All that shows me is the (03) is at the front and the back of the building which makes complete sense to do. It does look like a lot of painted metal though.

I don't know the history of the area. I'm not aware of any office buildings that have come down. I can only think of modest retail buildings between those office buildings and the end result is a diverse, varied "Midtown Manhattan" type streetscape. (architectural quality and style notwithstanding)
That is so dope. I love the aesthetic of Winnipeg architects/developers. Very cool!
