I'm looking forward to seeing them in motion. It's so close to the building it looks like it could hit it. The chrome finish looks great as well.

Damn that glass is nice.

Can't imagine how much the rounded corners cost them in total. There's a cottage going up near my parents' that has three full-height curved glass panels in their main foyer looking out over the water. Apparently it cost them $140,000 for the set...

Weds was good but they had a few things left to do. If it was like JW there will be a small group up, but a larger group a few floors below. However the weather is not as bad as it could be. When I was up to photo the Skyslab it was blowing and cold. about -20 wind chill. hard on the hands and equipment. I will head up next week to get the shots I need.

@Stantec

It’s official! Stantec Tower has reached its final height, topping out at 69 storeys and 251 meters! Now the tallest tower outside of Toronto, our HQ is in the heart of Edmonton’s @IceDistrict & represents our continued commitment to the City of Edmonton.
-----

ICE District Properties Joint Venture is pleased to announce one of its most monumental milestones to date as it officially topped-off Stantec Tower today, just over two years since its official ground breaking.

Today’s event gives the 69-storey (66 usable) Stantec Tower the official title of the tallest tower outside of Toronto as the much-anticipated high-rise now stands at 251 metres tall.

The commercial level of Stantec Tower was topped off one year ago and will house 29 floors of commercial workspace for Stantec, Dentons Canada LLP, DLA Piper, PwC Canada, and more. Stantec has completed consolidating 1,500 of its Edmonton-based employees into its new global headquarters, floors 3-20, in Stantec Tower. Stantec Tower’s fourth-floor balcony, overlooking the future ICE District Plaza, will be open to the public during various times of the year.

Wow good job Edmonton on the Stantec tower! I personally don't mind it at all, I think its an improvement for the city and brings it to new heights. I really thought Calgary would retain the title for the tallest tower outside of TO but this just shakes things up more.

I was curious how many towers Toronto has that exceed 251m, here's the list

BUILT
First Canadian Place (298m)
The Adelaide Hotel (277m)
Scotia Plaza (275m)
Aura (272m)
TD Canada Trust Tower (261m)
One Bloor East (257m)

UNDER CONSTRUCTION/APPROVED

The ONE (307m)
Pinnacle One Yonge (307m)
Mirvish Tower 1 (305m)
YSL Residences (299m)
Commerce Court 3 (298m)
The HUB (281m)
Mirvish Tower 2 (275m)

Its not fake news, I'm sure you saw I wrote "Under Construction/Approved" , meaning that the 7 towers under that are not built, but either under construction or approved and likely to be built in the future. The only one in that list that's actually u/c is THE ONE, the other 6 are approved/likely to be built in the coming years.

They are not all approved and it was disengenous of you to say they were. The one thing this forum understands is the length of time it takes to get zoning approval. The Hub is from early this year. This is what drove me away from SSP. The list is already impressive. There was no need to pad it even more.

We have a very different opinion on likely to be built. The One is likely to be built now that a hole has been dug and concrete poured. The approved developments in the list remain unknowns with no sales or leases.
