It will be interesting to see how this area develops over time. I’d love for more corridors to emerge as ideal locations for dedicated lane transit. Ideally that would include multiple streets of medium density development on either side of the corridor. With all of the industrial land in the area, this could be a great example if we build it right...

Address is 2275 Marietta Blvd (@Moores Mill), I believe

Despite what appears to be a parking deck front and center to the left (hard to tell from the rendering compared with the site plan), I disagree and believe the design is adequate and has nice street level engagement. I'm REALLY hoping developers along Marietta Blvd. decide to join the new roads they're constructing, essentially creating parallel roads to Marietta and some sort of grid... otherwise traffic will also stifle in this area.

Compared to the previous render, I find the new one worse. The one posted at the top of this page was much more interesting. Oh well...

Oh snap! That's awesome news. I'm having a tough go locating this one, maybe just east of the existing proposal? Or where la fonda is?

I love it. Why can't someone plop down something like that on an empty lot in Midtown?

WoW! West Midtown is absolutely killing it with density, quality and of course retail.

I'm guessing the Humane Society site, since that was actually known to have been for sale.

They posted the address on Instagram as 1050 Howell Mill and this looks like a small- maybe 150 ft wide, triangular building. Could this be the Northside Tavern site? The site is .31 acres. In comparison, the Midtown Hampton Inn site is around .25 acres.

Unless they botched the renderings, the orientation wouldn’t fit either northside tavern or the humane society parcels. I’m oretty curious as to where they’re intending to plop this down.

1050 Howell Mill is also the address for the residential portion of Star Metals currently under construction , if it is replacing northside tavern that will be disappointing as they assured that it would be remaining

I’m thinking they transposed the address and it’s 1005 Howell Mill, where Direct Furniture is. If you look at the first rendering, it shows it being directly across from the southern end of a mid rise building. To me, that’s the residential building on the west side, 1016 Lofts. You can see the curve of the rest of that block as it trails south and slightly east to the next corner, which would be 10th. Also, the street on the east side of the building looks like it’s just a single lane maybe with room for parking on one side, a block or so stretch they could create as part of the development of the site. Let’s wait and see. Love the design.

The new building looks great. Just hope it doesn't get watered down. I'm really hoping Star Metals can bring it home design-wise.

That's whats throwing you guys off. If we've learned anything about renderings at this stage of design, it should be that they are not intended to accurately depict the surroundings and especially concerning the skyline. Even if the location is La Fonda Latina I highly doubt that you have this view from the sidewalk in that area.
