The whole vertical is reeks of anti competition.... Ticket master sells tickets, live nation owns the rights to have the bands.. (same company) .. you basically have to use ticketmaster if you want to book live nation clients..

So SMG then partners with them.. its blatant price fixing before you even add in the fraudulent scalping connection with stub hub. Whats crazy is its so obvious but for some reason its accepted.

When the hip did their final tour they were sold out within minutes.. and all tickets were available on stub hub instantaneously.

In the last month or so CBC News had an undercover reporter go into a Ticketmaster convention in Vegas. If anyone saw or read these reports you would not be surprised by what is posted above. From what I read, Ticketmaster/Ace Tickets/ stub Hub etc. are glorified professional scalpers.

My wife is planning a trip to the Bryan Adams Concert in January.

We've have a gift card for Best Western, so we plan on staying there. Just curious how the bus system is working for these events so far, since it seems like I can pretty much hop on any bus and it'll take my to CF Champlain, and depending on weather can either walk to Best Western or take another short bus ride.

Just unfamiliar with Moncton, and if buses running will be an issue (This is a Tuesday)

Brian Adams should be a sellout which means Codiac Transpo will keep the busses running until the crowd leaving the arena has dispersed.

The Blue Line goes between the Avenir Centre and Champlain Place. You shouldn't have any problem.

ya your best bet is to just walk to the mall (5 mins). and take blue line(every 15mins) as monctonrad mentioned.

Curious, the above is all for the Wildcats dressing room, looking at the ceiling. However, is the Visitor's dressing room a mirror image? Same amenities? If so, this should be the talk of Canada, and beyond, within the junior leagues.

I don't know what the visitor dressing rooms look like, but my guess is they are pretty nice..because at the start of the season they were not available. The road team was using the extra locker rooms on the other side of the rink that were already built and pretty standard. They were relatively spacious and modern though you could see them in the open house at the grand opening.

Once the Wildcats dressing rooms were built on the bench side of the arena the road teams switched and started coming out from the entrance behind their bench instead of from the opposite side of the rink. The fact that they took that long to be built tells you they are likely top of the line in terms of "visitor" locker rooms.

There was an event the last 3 nights at Avenir. 2 nights well over 5000 attended and last night it was full. I was in Moncton this weekend. drove through the downtown past Sobeys. other than a full parking lot behind behind SOBEYS/ Tangerine you would never know that that many were in the rink. I know some have pAid a steep price for illegal parking, however, it appears the parking plan is working. Even with Sobeys closed and no guards by the lot, there were no more than 20 cars in that lot at 5:40 pm last night.

Interesting to see the bowl with the Jumbotron retracted. Seems much more spacious.

This fellow (Kevin Jordan) does reviews of all the arenas in the CHL, with this page devoted to the Q. I think his review is spot on. The deficiencies he noted were identical to those already mentioned by us on this thread, most notably the sound system being overly loud (since largely corrected), and the crowd noise being "lost in the rafters", producing a somewhat sterile experience.

He made the point that the team banners have not been placed in the rafters yet. I actually hadn't noticed this yet, but this is a fair point. Hopefully SMG isn't prohibiting the Cats from mounting their team pennants. Virtually every arena allows their resident teams to display their "battle honours".

One thing I have noticed is that the large posters of former Wildcats who have gone on to the NHL (which were a prominent feature of the old Coliseum) are also absent. This is unfortunate. I can see SMG banning these, as they might "clutter up" the concourse somewhat, but there should be some acknowledgement at points along the concourse of the teams history, perhaps a large plaque displaying the names of honoured players who have made it to the "show".........

If there is one part of the Avenir Centre that does feel kinda sterile, it is the concourse. The walls are completely bare, with video boards used for everything (menus at the concessions, general information etc). Some good old fashioned signs would be nice as well as team memorabilia and history.

Goji's is crazy busy. I wonder if they shouldn't open a second concession elsewhere in the concourse?

Finally, when is the Tim Horton's finally going to open up???

Given that the Magic were only in the infancy they did not have any banners. The only basketball banner was one that the Miracles raised for Ian Fowler.

I know some of the old banners like the Bill Riley Hawks one was sold in the coliseum yard sale, but I really hope they are planning a banner raising night. The 2 presidents cup banners should be prominently displayed. I have felt something off about looking up and seeing no banners since the first Wildcats game this season.

Given the use of interactive video screens in the sports hall of fame I could see the Wildcats ordering 1-2 of those screens and putting them on the Mezzanine to display all of the former Wildcats. Maybe 1 with all the old team photos and 1 for the players who made it to the NHL. Easier to add new content and keep it modern. Permanent old fashioned signs and banners do have more impact, given how permanent they are but I am also reminded of the banners outside harbor station display Johnathan Huberdeau & also a player on the mill rats which already looked outdated within a few years.

On another note: The Wildcats have added a new feature in the roar store. Its a large interactive video screen where you can customize your own jersey. Colour/Name/Number etc and they will receive the order in store and make it on site.

The stage was put under the jumbotron and they lowered it down with cables so that there could be a hip hop show in the middle of the ice
