There's another building still to come from Concert: they haven't started selling yet. You can see it a couple of pages back from here - they're working on a few changes to get the final design. After that East Park will be built, but the funding only got approved by electors a couple of weeks ago; part of a package of new parks costing $44m that had to be approved in the elections. It passed.

Seriously, not even some retail for this?

OV is fast becoming one heck of a boring neighbourhood, not unsimilar to Fairview Slopes. This is so Vancouver.

Seriously. What happened to with 2nd ave as commercial. Unless it will be like it's neighbour and have live work units in the base. Regardless I don't know why they need grass and so much landscaping along 2nd

That's an awesome way to isolate out the commercial component of OV and slowly kill it off with a dearth of foot traffic. City seems to be pretty good at doing stuff like this.

^ Definitely mediocre. I will add that a development one block from a Canada Line station should not have more than one parking space per unit.

I think they have one per unit. They also have to provide visitor spaces.

One per unit plus visitor makes sense. Many people take transit to work but drive on weekends (skiing, camping etc...) so still keep a car.

Agreed this one should have retail fronting W 2nd, mistake to allow ground level residential fronting a relatively busy road.

And yet Westbank's 700 W. 8th project has zero, yes ZERO, visitor parking. Talk about kowtowing to the anti-car zealots polluting the planning department.

These proposals would look better if the podiums were twice the height. In other words get rid of the podiums

The parking requirements are determined by the City Engineer, not the planning department. 700 W8th (which is not in Southeast False Creek or Olympic Village) has, according to the rezoning report from 10 years ago "About 159 residential spaces are proposed in three underground levels for 122 dwelling units, which exceeds the minimum by-law requirement of 129 spaces". Some of those should be visitor's parking, according to the parking by-law.

Much appreciated for that call-out. Plus, visitor parking is a fraction of the overall parking requirement... not to mention the new TDM parking reductions which will be a boon for this neighbourhood. Excited for my new project here with a TDM.

Olympic village seems livable

So 6 story buildings built with zero separation is fine but not a 13 story one. Makes no sense. Think of how many more units there could be built

It looks exactly the same arrangement as the Olympic Village buildings to me. Up to 13 storeys at the end of the block, and six storey running east-west to make sure the open space at the backs of the buildings get some natural light. (Those blocks area bit deeper).
