Can you get back to wherever your vantage point was for an update shot?

This building is quite the sight while driving down Colonel By, it should be really impressive once it's complete.

It’s a shame those window frames are so chunky. I’m worried it’s going to take away from the wavy balcony design.

We knew we were not going to get a wavy-balcony condo nearly as well executed as Absolute World in Mississauga.

You've probably noted that the curved railings shown in earlier renderings have been replaced by faceted ones on the current renderings on the website. Also looks like the balcony glass will no longer bypass the slabs.

When viewed from the top of the hill by Myers GM, it looks quite tall when viewed from the southwest. It's a cool vantage point to see it from, driving past the experimental farm on the way home from work each afternoon.

Icon: Best place to watch fireworks in the *world*?

This vantage point is already superb for fireworks (even the mistakes make nice photos). I've thought for years upper floors of Icon might be better.

So what is the next building for Icon to surpass (can be either total height, or floor count)?

Its supposed to be Trinity Centre at Bayview (65 stories) but I went by the site last weekend and there was absolutely no activity. No equipment, nothing. It won't start until next year (hopefully). I feel like this project is indirectly tied to the fate of Lebreton in some way shape or form (in terms of a business case). Trinity is overseeing that project as well as lebreton so there's some conflicting interests there as well as a partner (Melnyk) to appease.

that project should go ahead pretty quickly simply because it's a rental project backed by an institutional investor. Whatever they're waiting for, it's not sales.

So, is Icon currently the tallest tower in Ottawa-Gatineau by now?

I know it's not topped out but they are on the, what, 30th? 31st floor?

Current tallest tower seems to be Terrasses De La Chaudiere at 30 floors (or 124m), although I know office floors are taller than condo floors, correct?

Metropole is 33 floors, 108M. I think it’s still taller for now.

What's interesting is to look at the timeline diagrams, and see how much taller Icon, Italia, and Trinity are than anything else in the city...It's almost hard to believe that these projects are a reality, or soon-2-be one...

Photos November 10th 2018

Hi everyone,
I have been lurking for some time but decided to finally post a couple of my pictures. We purchased a unit in the Icon and are watching her construction closely, taking photos on a weekly basis.

I am having trouble showing the pictures here so I hope the links work!
