Good to see some real progress so far. Is it me or the flowing river pattern on the laid bricks was a waste of taxpayer money. It looks like a sweeping job gone wrong.

Still wet but some activity today

The flow pattern looks like — when wet - maybe they are still going to put a final sealant on it?

Took a walk to Starbucks today for Happy Hour. With Dundas & Richmond closed to both traffic and pedestrians, you actually have to go through the coffee shop if you want to continue walking. Otherwise the paths dead end and you have to walk to the other side of Richmond.

Walked by Budweiser Gardens, and those street lamps do a good job lighting up the street.

I was looking at some of the material/documentation. Apparently they had plans to put piping to help melt snow, but of course, the condition was if the funding would be approved. All your pictures show that this funding did not pass. I wonder how well these Unilock pavers last on the road surface that will be receiving plowing multiple times in the winter.

Of course, they could do it the good ol' London way, and rip up the street a year or two later and add it

Well, the first phase of the flex street was due to be completed by October 31. We're now almost into mid-November, and I'd say only 60% is complete, if what I see is anything to go by when I leave the office to get lunch or take a break. There are still spots where they've had to rip things up because something got missed the first time around.

I'm also annoyed that the sewer repairs at York and Ridout are still not done and over two months behind schedule, since the deadline was August 31. And starting last week, they've ripped up the part of York just east of Talbot and York and closed off the street to all eastbound traffic in that area.

The rush-hour snarl-ups this is causing in the York/Talbot/Ridout/Richmond blocks are a thing to behold. Luckily, they don't last too long.

Is someone asleep at the switch here? I've never seen any construction project in London so badly coordinated.

It is definitely more than 60% done. The brick laying is about 60% done but there was a lot of underground work to be done as well.
