Whatever support I may have had for this went up in smoke yesterday when I learned that LeBlanc is also involved in the marijuana business. Someone involved with past members of the criminal element is not someone to whom I would entrust public funds.

Hi Keith, I am not sure where you are getting your information regarding the criminal element. You may want to have a look at their website: modernleaf.ca. The people behind this cannabis company seem to have a great deal of business experience that has all been legal. Cheers!

Leblanc has been involved with a number of failed tech ventures and the background posted there causes me considerable alarm. Everyone else shown there except for the analytics and PR people are sales types, something that does not inspire confidence in this or the CFL project. Whatever experience or expertise they have about the product had to be gained from those who were involved in the business illegally. I would run, not walk, away from anything these people are involved with for all of the above reasons. Just because the industry has put on a suit does not mean it is suddenly respectable.

No proof whatsoever regarding your allegations against LeBlanc and any nefarious involvement in the weed biz. Nothing but character assassination. I am dealing with this stuff everyday (legally). Anyone bright enough to get in on the ground floor was a genius.

Those involved in illegal activities have to be.

In any event his background as noted on the site, of which I was previously unaware, make it pretty clear that he is a snake oil salesman. Not a person I would ever entrust with public money.

It wasn't when they started and anyone who claims expertise in it didn't acquire all that expertise in 3 weeks. It is a very dirty business.

Yes, but everyone knew it was going to be legal for the past few years and were gearing up for the legal date

It remained illegal to use up until 10/17. The company is selling "expertise" which speaks to a long pattern of activity outside the law. That in turn speaks to contempt for rules, regulations, laws, and government authority. Is this really someone you want to back $200 million in debt for? I would not.

So what is the background behind this expert "recognition" of yours? A long history of smoking weed or is it just the voices speaking to you?

If we can keep this on topic instead of going after each other that would be great, thanks.

The possibility of a cannabis company buying the stadium's naming rights is interesting (assuming they're allowed to put their names on such things)

"Organigram Field"?

Can beer companies sponsor buildings? I imagine cannabis would fall under the same umbrella. It's not the most family-friendly, family-oriented optics to have if your building is sponsored by a beer/cannabis brand.

I can't think of any sports buildings in Canada that are sponsored by alcohol companies off the top of my head. Budweiser Stage is a concert venue...
