There is no other explanation besides that at the moment. First praying mantis and then Godzilla will come.

Vin, your opinion is paraded around as fact on this website, so I will continue to refute your misguided and biased posts for the betterment of this forum.

And a car sales pitch?? If you had a million dollars and were looking at two sites on the same block, both the same size, one of them greenfield and one with a gas station, which would you pay more for? The sophisticated buyer factors in the costs to get the site to a developable state. This is real estate economics 101 bud.

This is painfully slow to watch - I see if from my apt window. Once they get past the revolving restaurant it should move more swiftly, but sheesh, day after day I've been wasting time...

Significant logistical challenges I'm sure. It'll take some time to bring that building down

Nice to see some blue skies in Vancouver. It's been a while for us here

Yes, painfully slow. Maybe check back in another month?

Compare pics below to see about one month's progress.

not surprising , the apparent slow speed.

the top is cantelivered over the tower like a mushroom cap, so needs to be properly dismantled piece-meal

once gone the rest of the tower might disappear as quickly as a floor per week

The following pic is for those of you who have not yet had the pleasure of walking through the shipping container sidewalk tunnel. My pic Sept.14:

I've had a good look at the tower several times in the past week as I've gone by and decided not to bother taking a pic because it looks mostly unchanged since about a month ago. When the top part disappears though it will really speed up. I think somewhere back in this thread it was said that the regular floors will disappear at the rate of one every 3-5 days.

Restaurant roof appears to be off. Top section of scaffolding is coming down.

(My pics, today).

It looks like half if not more of the restaurant space has been removed.

The fact that a demo like this, and new build, can be done at a profit, absolutely blows my mind.
