Not sure about total eligible, but I believe I saw the last election had 52% turnout.

50.2% in the last election. Turnout is usually lower when an incumbent mayor is running. When Sam Katz won re-election in 2010 turnout was 47%.

468k eligible voters last election.

If he loses then we got JennyPoo who will for sure keep it closed and destroy rapid transit. Give the cops more money and we will see her mug spewing more garbage and blaming it all on former mayors.

Fact is though. The entire corner above and below HAS to be fixed. Not for some Open P&M movement. For the simple fact it’s all falling apart. That is one thing not one yes or no voter can deny.

I do however see it taking many years to do. The complexity of fixing it all and keeping traffic flowing during construction would be a fair deal.

My guess is they will wait till the new towers is done and that construction is gone and then start on portage and main. They may start underground sooner. Just like they did with Winnipeg square.

Last poll showed 67% no.

I’m gonna be optimistic and say that no gets less than 60%.

The envelope has to be fixed from above I believe.

honestly I think the vote open side has a good chance of winning, or at least coming close. It seems to me that most of the people who want to vote no are the kind of people that will stay home to watch hockey or football rather than go and vote. I think despite the loud vocal opposition, the yes side is much more dedicated to the cause, and much more likely to show up at the polls.

I don't think there are any more NO voters since the last poll. If anything the information out there will sway people to vote YES.

I'm going to be optimistic and say YES gets 40% or slightly greater.

Crazy scenario, the no vote doesn't show up to vote because of their confidence in victory and the yes vote gets out in force causing a slim victory but reelecting bowman and since he said he'd respect the results he's forced to open it up.

I would think any "no" vote 60-40 or closer would have to be seen as somewhat of a victory for the "open" side. In ant case, I think a "no" in the non-binding plebiscite just delays the opening for a couple of years when "circumstances" will change to further justify the opening.

You mean the kind of people who go to work everyday and pay taxes and pay for all the fluff that Bowman throws tax dollars and such....

Just goes to show the elitist attitude of some of the yes dreamers!

It won't - but thanks for thinking of us!

I voted yes. I held my nose up high and acted as elitist as possible. People looked at me funny, but I assume it was because they realized they were in the presence of an elite citizen, and didn't know whether to bow, curtsy or avert their eyes in front of my magnificence.
