They both know that if you tell a lie enough times, people will accept it as fact. Government unions do it all the time.

Just another example of a group repeating something that's false enough times that the general public will accept it as fact.

^ Party of a dozen idiots dreaming of the opening of P & M but all lost on the fact that you can have a party there with the barricades still up!

I’m pretty sure they want the barricades down so you can cross the street, not so you can have a party.

I drove by twice. Both times there looked to be a couple hundred people or more. First time around 7 second around 10. There are many people who feel strongly enough to spend an evening outside in not great weather. I wonder how the vote will turn out.

I don't think YES will win, but it will be interesting to see what the ratio is – and also voter turnout. Municipal election voter turnout is always low, but this one has the extra vote meaning it could be a bit different.

The NO vote definitely skews older, and younger people tend to vote less, so if the general turnout is higher (and in that, young vote higher), it's possible it could be closer than expected. I don't have faith there will be good turnout though, lol.

Plaza was full by the time the bigger bands played. The other corner was also busy after sundown. Beer garden and open mic. Was a long day. Could have been condensed for sure. Had a lot of bands come forward.

So what exactly was the point of it all? Do you need P & M open to have a beer garden, open mic and have bands playing, there are plenty of venues around the city for this sort of thing, are you trying to buy votes from a younger demographic at that specific location for a specific cause, doesn’t the fact that an event was held with barricades still in place make the whole thing a moot point?

The point was the curmudgeons who irrationally believe the world will end if people are allowed to cross the street would never have a rock concert. The message is if you want to be with the curmudgeons vote for 1979. If you want to be with the fun people vote yes.

The actual point was to show people it is a place not a freeway interchange.

Sound was awesome. It sounds cool reflecting off the buildings. Mahogany Frog was LOUD. I thought it was going to get shut down.

Royal Canoe ended singing another brick in the wall. Was perfect.

To be perfectly frank I really couldn't care less how the vote goes either way, if it is a yes vote and the intersection is opened to ped. traffic I don't think it will make a hell of lot of difference in transforming anything or adding to the Winnipeg experience in any way, shape or form!

In a city of over 800000 having just over a hundred people come out as a show of solidarity towards a YES vote kind of amounts to a fly 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 in the wind!

How many of these proponents actually have to travel through the intersection, it's fine to be all in favour of something if it doesn't affect you personally!
The 5 minutes is an estimate by the traffic consultants. I'll take their estimate over your hysterical guess.

I drive through the intersection in the evening rush hour Monday to Friday, going from Portage eastbound to Main northbound (the most affected route) and I want the intersection open. How often do you drive through the intersection at rush hour?

Although my hope is for the intersection to be open, sadly on Friday I was greeted with the reality I believe is most common.

Going to a party with 3 other hockey families the subject came up and sadly I was the only one in a car of 6 that wanted it open. It was clear that there was a total lack of information on the other 5 as they didn't seem to really understand what would happen if it was open. I explained my side with all the possibilities and was generally met with the same response....It will take me too long to get home. The facts didn't seem to matter. Their crystal ball told them that letting people cross the street would cost them an extra 1/2 hr in traffic. Funny thing was is that none of them worked downtown.

This is my experience too. Most people really don't give a 🞵🞵🞵🞵 but to the extent that they've thought about it at all, they think that opening the intersection will have a negative impact on traffic. I don't know what that's based on, but there you go.

I'm sorry that I hadn't heard about the event at P&M on the weekend, otherwise I would have stopped by.
