Crosswalk at Talbot has shifted to the west side. First time you can walk on the new concrete and bricks!

Rainy but work getting done. More brick laying by Bud Gardens and wooden frames being set up for crosswalks on the east side of Talbot.

So the spotted pavement is widen sidewalks? If so does Ridout become one-way, one lane, with no parking and if so will it be going north or south?

The flex street basically starts at the crosswalk at Ridout and Dundas, not into the intersection. No roadway changes to Ridout at all. Also, the entire surface is bricks (with concrete underneath as seen in the photos) and level. The traffic lanes and the sidewalks aren't really going to be physically separated by a curb, but by distinctive brick design. Which could make it pretty interesting in snow conditions. And for sure, people will probably pull over onto the pedestrian walkway to run into stores "because I'm only going to be a minute".

Between Richmond and Talbot ain't happening before the snows. They might want to start early next year east of Richmond if they want to finish all 4 blocks by end of next construction season.

I wonder if that's why they haven't been putting the bricks down on the roadway portion west of Talbot. Maybe they are looking at just getting the concrete base down east of Talbot before winter and driving on that until next spring. At the very least, the underground work in the Richmond intersection will be done, so next year it's a bit less than 2 full blocks and only one intersection that need to get done.

Hopefully we get York open before winter.

I think the city will force them to work 24/7 to make sure it does or the downtown merchants will howl over the loss of the crucial Christmas shopping days and with good reason. I imagine that`s why the whole thing was promised to be done by November as there is no way in hell the merchants would allow a mess like what we have now during the busiest time of the shopping year. If they don`t finish on time then the law suits will begin and I`m sure the city knows it.

Anyway, it looks FANTASTIC!
