Making homelessness a crime are we?

Yes very excited to see the use of timber at the MEC location the other day and really added that to my argument to clients to use it in their constrcution and take a chance. We're courting another major hiking/outdoor outfitter in the area and I think it would be a good direction knowing their "perspective".

Olympic Village has more than a few "social housing" buildings, depending on how you classify them.

On the low end there are the 2 temp modular complexes (1 built, 1 approved). On the high end, there are a few "non-market" and coop housing complexes in the actual village and the surrounding areas.

In the middle there are several centers including Marguerite Ford, Sanford, and First Place Residence. I'm probably missing some.

Not a crime, just for good citizens to follow good bylaws that benefit the majority. Are you a criminal if you are caught speeding?

Aurmon's W2 (Wylie and West 2nd) has finally started digging out the parkade. Odd - it looks like they've started construction without pre-sales. There's no sign of a sales centre, or a website - even the developer's own website doesn't mention it's being built yet.

Soil testing of some kind?

Or perhaps already pre-sold overseas...

Interior design firm for the project called it rental condos:

https://www.byudesign.com/future-environments/

Mix of strata and rental?

Maybe stratified, but all units retained by the developer and rented out with future sale in mind.

That makes sense. They can get as much rent as the market will bear, as they're not getting any breaks on DCLs which they could with a Rental 100 building. Bosa's Chinatown building on Main Street is another recent example.

The birds are indeed back, looking really nice. Too nice to scratch. Might need a bird cage.

Does anyone know why the north building of phase 2 still sits empty?
They should have been moving in back in August.

I am not following this thread actively, but now that the last new buildings (Navio etc.) nearby Science World have been completed, when is that new park between them and the waterfront going to be built? It must be part of the community amenities for these projects, so they cannot just leave the ugly paved parking lot to remain?
