I almost tripped and fell while walking next to Millennium Tower on Mission St today due to the pavement being warped.

Condolences that you didn't. Lot of deep pockets in that neck of the woods.

About how far up the building is it and on what side? I work south of it and have a good view of the building, so I'm curious if I can see it.

You work at 181 Fremont? This is facing Salesforce East's side around the ~30th floor.

Dogpatch edition...

found out why the T-Line Loop project seemed to have stalled:

Quote:
The project team was close to completing the sewer work and moving towards the next phase of construction involving working on the duct bank along Illinois Street and installing the trackway. However, ... a neighboring construction project ... unexpectedly punctured a hole in the sewer line at 19th and Illinois streets and filled that portion of the sewer with concrete. ... this has caused an adjustment to our project timeline with an expected completion date of winter 2018.
but, that was as of May, and I haven't seen much evidence of progress since then, so we'll see.

I suppose the big news in Dogpatch is that another project has gotten underway, NW corner of 3rd and 20th. the building has been demo'd:

looking down 3rd

they've dug an extra hollow in what was the parking lot

was too sleepy to finish my post last night... elsewhere around Dogpatch:

practically kitty-corner from the new project (2290 Third) is 901 Tennessee, which is showing much more skin

and you can still see it looking through the site for 950 Tennessee

rebar starting to peek over the fences at 2177 Third, with 777 Tennessee up the hill in the distance, and even a yellow piece of equipment from the UCSF Psychiatry Center site visible on far right. the density of in-progress projects in Dogpatch is mildly astounding to me

777 Tennessee seen from just-about-completed 815 Tennessee

here we are looking from Third across the Psychiatry site up the hill to the two UCSF housing parcels, which are now quite visible from Third

they are wasting no time on the Psychiatry building

down the street, the lot next to the little project on the corner of Tennessee and Mariposa has been cleared, and I honestly can't remember if that is new or not. (edit: yes, in pics from an Aug 12 post there was a building there still.) but it appears to be this

Love the wood “skin” of 901 Tennessee . Thanks for the picture updates as usual timbad. These smaller projects are easy to miss but still very important.

We'll see how it looks after 5 years of weathering.

I looked at permits for a few.

Looks like 950 Market has permits and is going forward. I am super surprised that this one is going forward while 1028 Market is on hold/being sold as entitled. Anybody know about 1066 Market [edit: bad news, looks like they have withdrawn their shoring and excavation permits]? Would love to see at least two out of the three get built. In many ways if most don't get built this cycle we're even worse off, as we're left with empty or demo'd commercial space in a location that is already struggling with having enough foot traffic to curb the drugs/mental illness issues, and the empty mall certainly doesn't help. I'd rather have active street fronts even with Metro PCS and liquor store tenants rather than empty boarded up buildings and demo'd buildings that will languish until the next cycle.

Also surprised Folsom is going forward. Really wish the three Folsom projects that are housing (655 Folsom, 667 Folsom, and 95 Hawthorne) would go forward, as those are far more valuable to helping our housing shortage and adding density. Have not heard anything from any of them [edit: 655 Folsom has at least applied for a construction permit that has been in process for TWO AND A HALF YEARS, and the other two have not even applied] and I so feel like they'll be next cycle or not at all.

Happily surprised the gas station next to Jasper is going forward. They seem to have at least some of the permits to start building, so hopefully we squeeze that one in this cycle as well.

All of the above (those getting built and those in limbo) are excellent infill projects that I wish all would go forward. But alas, at least we're getting some.
1066 Market excavation was going strong as of this morning.

I'm not positive but imagine the crane issue they had back in the spring probably got their permit pulled. I did just notice that there appear to be updated renderings on the Shorenstein site: https://shorenstein.com/portfolio/investments/property?id=7182&type=residential#prop_descr
