Absolutely. It will also add verticality between Hancock and Trump/Vista while looking East at the skyline. Almost like a 4th point in the skyline. Can't wait for this to get underway.

I don't think so. Will walking 100 feet outdoors versus underground really make that much of a difference?

Honestly, the thing that makes me most excited about this bad boy, is the fact that it will get built all at once. I've been needing some instant gratification in terms of skyscraper megadevelopments, which is not exactly something that Chicago is known for. Usually, we seem to build our multi building projects in phases and piecemeal. Gimme gimme!

I believe the top floor goes to 1011ft, but we are measuring based off the top of the screening as per the drawings that were released a while back.

Someone should correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that's what I saw when I had gone searching through some of the older posts near the beginning recently.

On really rainy / snowy / cold days maybe so...

I think it could be a game changing nicety, especially if they put a Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts or something else popular on the route along the way.

I did street parking in the city for 4 years. I've had heated garage parking for the past year and a half and what was a luxury is now a necessity. My 1 hour commute to the suburbs every morning is made much easier by the fact that I take an elevator to my car instead of walking outside.

It truly does make a difference, and I imagine it's the same for many of the wealthier people who would be living here and working in the loop or heading to the airport (if they're not ubering).

While cool, dont think it would be a huge boost on demand. Most of the folks living here won’t take public transit. They’ll drive or Lyft, especially to Ohare. Whatever demand it would create wouldn’t offset the cost of building he connection. It’s a good opportunity for the city tho to step in and say, “we want to boost ridership overall for people who don’t live in the building, so if you want this tower, then pay for a share of the connection”

So been converting my Chicago to VR, and of all the tall proposed projects in the city, this one really surprised me with how huge it felt. In VR it feels absolutely massive. Even the shorter tower feels huge!
Sorry for bumping this thread without any news.

Well done. That's a beautiful mock-up. Hopefully it does look similar to that.

Move to next page. Very nice artwork. This is going to be one good looking building, and it will throw the whole skyline balance off from where it is now. That is a good thing.

Don't tell my girlfriend, but I think I just fell in love with this beaut...

I feel like she'd understand

I'm telling you rgarri4, people would pay for access to view that model. I still love how you blocked that one website from using yours though. Keep posting, always some of my favorite stuff is when you drop in!

Height to top occupied floor is 890' and total height is 1046'. I'm feeling a giant, well lit crown which would be awesome.

Looking at this and comparing to the images on page 1 of this thread, clearly in rgarri’s mockups the towers look much taller. I’m guessing that you did your math correctly and that these mockups are an accurate representation of how these buildings will appear?

If so, that just goes to show you that developers are going out of their way to diminish the size of their projects when they show renderings to the community, doesn’t it?

I fail to see anything wrong with this
