I even heard some people saying most of Québec's hilly areas looks like interior B.C.

I still think that the mountain range in BC is of a whole new level. Canadian Shield seems more subdued in comparison.

You clearly have not driven along the shores of Lake Superior.

Yes, they may be at a lower altitude, and yes, the peaks are not nearly as high, but they are just as rugged.

I actually have driven that stretch, yes, from Nipigon to SSM.

Thanks for reminding me how it was difficult to even go 90 kph in some part.

Nipigon to SSM may technically not be in the mountains or on the Ocean coast, but it still must rank as one of the most breathtaking drives in Canada. You could easily fool someone with pictures that it is both of those things! I certainly wouldn't want to do it during the winter though...

The drive from Kenora to Marathon is on my list of great drives of Canada.

Icefiled Parkway.
BC 99 to Pemberton
Alberta Highway 40.
South Klondike Highway from Whitehorse to Skagway.
Dempster.
Yukon Highway 6 from Jakes Corner to Ross River.
and along the Ottawa river.

Have not driven enough in Eastern Quebec and the Maritimes to find one I can add yet.

What's the deal with the Fundy Trail Parkway? I saw that on a map, and wasn't sure, at the time it didn't look like it went very far. Is it maintained by the province, or is it just a park road?

It's fine in the winter, just have winter tires and don't go over the speed limit. And bring an emergency kit and a gas can, you might need them if there is a blizzard.

Right now it's a "road to nowhere", but they're building a connector through to NB114, which should be open by 2020 I believe. This will allow you to take the scenic route all the way from SJ to Moncton, including the Fundy Trail Parkway, Fundy Park itself, Cape Enrage, Hopewell Rocks and the drive up the Petitcodiac River valley into Moncton.

Once complete, the entire Fundy coast from Saint Andrews by-the-Sea all the way the Sackville will be accessible and hopefully will put pay to the notion of NB being a "drive-thru province".
