Popups are huge in cities across the globe, that's what everywhere means. It's the reality of retail now. Brands can get their name out there and control where and when they want them.

THINKA now open on 1100 block Robson, brightens up the dreary half-vacant stretch of Robson a bit, wish they had done more with the signage.

Gap at Coquitlam Centre has a We're moving sign. I went to the liquidation sale in July as they were having a store closing sale and barely had any stock left at that time. Very strange.

Uniqlo looked fully stocked and ready for its grand opening on Friday. Lush has also moved to a larger space and has moved from the food court area to across from Uniqlo. The former Lush space shows a Chachi's will open soon.

I can't believe they opened on Robson, their store in Lougheed mall is awful with merchandise better suited for the night market.

I think it speaks volumes of the current state of that part of Robson. Vacancies galore, dilapidated CRU's and third rate retailers. Amazing how far it's fallen.

Actually I think this is part of the shift towards trendy overpriced stores with asian names selling overpriced crap. They put some in Richmond Centre, one in Metrotown, and one on North Granville downtown.

It’s a 6x or higher markup lol. By overpriced I mean they have huge markups not that the base price is high.

Muji’s markup is for suckers but Miniso is fairly priced.

Planners?

It has nothing to do with planners. The largest malls in the world have pop-ups

Litlerally planners have nothing to do with the rise of pop-ups. It's a lease contract between a landlord and a tenant.

Do you have idea how all of this works?

ROOTS Last Call is in Coquitlam now next to the Brick on United Blvd. I wondered what happened to them when I saw they had left the Grandview Hwy location. It can be a little tough to get to when the traffic is heavy but probably easier than the old location.

They should try for the I forget its name but in the new station square at Metrotown. I don't think they need drive thrus.

Seafood City is going to expand across Canada now, I wonder if the old best buy home outfitters at Queensbourough would be good for them if it's still empty.

The two retail structure being built on Superstore Coquitlam's site looks like they're progressing well.

Looks like a casual sitdown by the Staples, as there's a significant patio structure.

The other one appears to have a drive thru? Quite large, perhaps two units.

^^^Probably not a Jollibee, but would be a good spot!
