It’s terrible! That design was rendered a few years ago. They should let Sable Arc take a stab at putting together a design that fits with the area, and honours the traditions and cultures of the islands’s first setters.

Rendered drawings usually always look much nicer than the end result, so this building frightens me.

Surley the city hasn't allowed this. Far nicer buildings were turned down for the area. The public was totally against those so where is opposition for this ugliness. Come on City of Charlottetown, give your head a shake!

The aboriginal population of PEI is not that large (no more than a few thousand), and not many of those are urban aboriginals. Do they need a building this large?

How is this project being funded? Is it federal money??

A 44 unit apartment building is being built at 30 Norwood Road.

Berth expansion work underway on Charlottetown waterfront.

Work has started along the Charlottetown waterfront to extend the port's berth and allow more than one ship to dock at a time.

Only one ship can be tied up at a time now, but this work will allow two 300-metre ships to dock at once, says business development manager Corryn Clemence.

"The work that's being done now is so that we will be able to tie up two vessels at one time."

I've driven the throughway through Saint John when there has been three cruise ships in at a time - it's a glorious sight.

3 ships have been in at the same time in Charlottetown, however they cannot all dock.

Here is another apartment project that is supposed to be beginning soon behind the Charlottetown Mall.

A 63 unit 4 story building and a 24 unit 3 story building.

A subdivision development that is currently in progress in Stratford off the Kinlock Road. 68 acres with 154 lots, including 129 single-family dwellings and 25 semi-detached units.

Seafood Express Update

The steel is up and construction is moving along. My concern about this location is the traffic. The Sherwood Rd is narrow and having turning trucks will be difficult to get in and out. The Sherwood and Malpeque Rd intersection is one busy spot. I hope there is a plan to widen and rebuild the intersection to support all this new truck traffic.

Pond Street Residence Finally Gone!

They finally tore down the old house on the corner of Queen and Pond. It opens up that intersection and the sight line for the crosswalk.

"After sitting vacant for more than a decade, the former Myron’s nightclub building in downtown Charlottetown has been sold with plans to turn it into a 105-room hotel. Renovations, including some demolition, are going to begin immediately. That work will involve raising the building by two storeys, he said."


I was walking by this place yesterday and work has already begun.

Great Project as the building has been vacant for so long but a few things

1.The building will go from 4 to 6 floors above ground Is there any parking planned?

2. I thought Homburg was financially ruined hence the sale of all Homburg Rental properties to Metcap properties.

It also says in the news article that they will try to procure on street parking or parking in one of the downtown parking garages.
