They have said that the sales in Canada are more than expected and Vancouver is their best performing market so far. They must be looking for space downtown and have the patience to do so.

The metrotown store is always busy, lineup to pay everytime. I've been to the guildford store a few times and it has been quiet, like me and maybe 5 other customers and never a lineup to pay. The Richmond store was really busy though when I went there. Coquitlam Centre has lost Old Navy and The gap, at least Uniqlo will be a good replacement.

Yorkdale has an LED ticker as well.

must be considered a flagship then. Uniqlo just opened in perth and they have no ticker and are not being called a flagship.

Also GAP. Someone noted on these forums that Gap/Old Navy are moving to the old Best Buy location across the street from the mall.

I wonder if they will open a Gap Factory store instead there. They seem to be increasing the factory stores and closing the regular gap stores. I wondered what they would do with that old Best Buy space.

The sears space is still empty I wonder if they have something in the plans for that space yet. The winners in that old mall by Superstore should consider moving over there.

Noooooo! That was the last location in the Lower Mainland. They're supposed to open one at Tsawwassen Commons.. we'll see.

Is Uniqlo waiting for the downtown Old Navy to go belly-up? Seems like that's the only way to open stores these days: to cannibalize another business, especially in the downtown core where virtually no new stores have been added for decades.

That was announced awhile ago too, apparently Langley is going to get one again.

Haven't been to Tsawwassen Mills/Commons in awhile, do they have the future Arby's building built yet?

Closest one now = drive to Kamloops/Kelowna for the MEATs

Seemed like they were all built but just required tenant improvements. (And a Tim Hortons)

that space is too small. They need something bigger or whats the point? another mediocre space. Metrotown is their largest and its too small, cramped in there, it can be hard to navigate when its busy.

Good large footprint retail spaces are getting hard to come by. The one in Richmond is absolutely tiny by Uniqlo standards. The aisles are so small that I feel claustrophobic when navigating them.

I hate shopping at Richmond and Metrotown locations.. they're way too tight. Guildford is a LOT better.

That was a rumour I'd heard. I walked past the old Best Buy location last night and from the outside it doesn't look like anything at all is being done with it.

I think having a permanent Uniqlo store in Yaletown would've been great too! It can even complement the Mavi Jeans store and other boutique clothing retailers by giving them a bit of clothing retail synergy. It would rejuvenate Yaletown in the day time. For that to succeed, more popular retailers need to set up shop En Masse.

Bigger brands had tried when Yaletown was starting out but never really took off. People like the independent boutiques. I wonder if there is enough space for them.

The old Chapters on Robson, now Sport Chek (?) would have been the right size and location.

Maybe they can get one of the spots in that theatre renovation if that place ever starts, has anything started there yet?
