It's one of the nicest highrises built in Vancouver in recent years, and from some angles it's more imposing than these pictures suggest. You can see it from pretty far south.
The False Creek area, including the downtown side, seems "on paper" like it should be great but it has never appealed to me much as a neighbourhood. It feels very monotonous, with a lot of yuppie-type businesses (80's-90's connotation of the term works here) and not much character when you are walking around. The mainland side is worse, with a lot of lowrise condos and housing projects with large footprints and little in the way of businesses mixed in. It feels suburban despite its density.
I don't find that the West End has the same feel, and in fact I like the exterior appearance of many of the 60's slabs more than I like the 2000's glass condos.
