We're seriously bickering about ticket sales for the Jets?? They sell out 13,000 season tickets every year. That's their limit. If they went to 14,000 they'd still be sold out.

On Sutton Place, there's people on site there everyday. Not sure what they're up to. Will have to take a stroll by and see.

Technically the 3rd round games were sellouts. I've heard there were a few dozen tickets remaining at game time, as the prices were at a level that Winnipeggers simply could not afford them.

As for the regular season, the Jets ahve sold out every game for 7 years.
Depends on your definition of sell-out. Anything over 95% sold is called a "sell-out" per Scott Brown of TNSE. There have been games with many walk up seats that were not sold. There was a set of seats next to my season seats that were available on ticket master for walk ups and half the games weren't sold.

Personally I think TNSE is pushing it with their 5% price increases and a lot of the good will they built up is gone. I've given up my seats cause the games I couldn't make it to I couldn't sell even below my cost. These were P6 tickets, I think demand for lower bowl is higher.

I've got P2 seats and never had an issue selling them. Always above season ticket price.

Why would you wonder about that particular scenario? And wouldn't interest decline for any team in any sport if it was at the absolute bottom of the league for six years? Maybe you should focus on the Leafs.

This is out of the Jets control. NHL requires teams place holds on seats for players, family, friends, officials, VIPs etc, sometimes in the hundreds of seats. Once they get officially turned down (usually day-of) then they go in the pool. For Most signle game ticket buyers, a game is part of a big night out, special occasion... tough for a lot of ppl to make a last minute decision, especially when most games are weeknights.

There are still thousands of people on the season ticket waiting list so maybe you did not try hard enough.

There's long, thin LED strip lighting embedded into the concrete/ground all throughout the square, right up to the sidewalk at the corner plaza. Should look pretty cool when it's turned on... would love to see it used in more places.

Also, the skywalk access has broke through to the mall in cityplace now, it's hoarded though. Definitely appears we won't be getting the second floor windows back for this. At least not in the beginning, maybe down the road.

Thought I'd just throw it in here. There's a link to a camera for the construction site but it hasn't been updated. There's still snow on the ground. Once ground has been broken I'm sure we'll be able to watch the progress.

Dont forget that the team has X amount of hold backs for players and the league and releases them very close to game time. This is especially true during the playoffs.

The crowds in Nashville were nothing like Winnipeg.

With the 8000 seat wait list, True North doesnt have to worry about tickets any time soon. The only difference now is that people are more likely to sell their tickets (rather than go to every single game). This is especially true for Tuesday night against a crappy team. But the ticket is still sold.

Season ticket renewals are like 96% or something so no worries there. Their staggered ticket renewal and the waiting list were genius.

Anyway, I imagine TNS will help create a cool meeting place for Jets fans before games too.

Not sure your logic. Cause someone is on the season ticket wait list you think they're out there looking to buy tickets to every game regardless of location?

I listed on kijiji daily, stub hub, seat exchange. The demand for certain games was non existent. If I tried harder, maybe I could have sold more games, sure, but that's besides the point. The point is the demand for seats has dropped off, because I was putting in more effort to sell games and there were no buyers where previously there was no issue selling for my cost. So regardless of me "not trying hard enough", the demand that was there is no longer there.

The novelty has worn off to some extent, and the fact remains that it is not a cheap night out. For most people, a night out to a Jets game is a pretty hefty splurge. It's a far cry from the 90s when the cheap seats at a Jets game were only a couple bucks more than a movie ticket and you could sit front row centre for $45. These days, two tickets, a couple drinks and snacks and parking, and you're easily looking at $250 and quite likely more than that. Manageable once or twice a year, but relatively few people can afford to do that on the regular either 15, 20 or 41 times a season. And unlike Toronto, Winnipeg doesn't have a near endless supply of people interested in doing that once or twice a year. So not surprisingly, demand is softening.

The only time I had an issue was if I tried to sell a ticket at 4pm of a 7pm puck drop.

What does any of this have to do with TNS? Please get back on topic even if it means there's nothing to talk about. Or, better yet, take your arguments to the proper thread.

True North owns the Jets, and one of the purposes of the plaza of True North square is for gatherings of Jets fans.
