ABSOLUTELY!!!!

The City spent our tax money to improve and rebuild Granville, and then let the scum back in to inhabit, defecate, destroy and cause mayhem. The street is disgusting now and the disease is spreading everywhere. I'm sorry, I just walk to and from work everyday and have to cross that hell hole. You should try it on a Friday night. Not fun.

Being dirty on a Friday night is not inexcusable (party streets even here in Japan get dirty on Friday and Saturday nights) the difference is by noon time the next day the streets are spotless again. And this is when Vancouver shows how it is lacking in waste collection and street cleaning. I remember walking down Granville on a Monday afternoon and it still looked like a party was going on.

Some shots of the tower's podium from the east side of the bridge. In the last pic, the podium is on the left while the building between the Howe Street Ramp and the bridge (with the white crane) rises on the right.

Not a city priority at all. They honestly don't give a care in the world, I'm convinced.

I think he posted all of them. The two under the tower were started first - one is effectively finished and that's the one you can see the tilted roof from the bridge; they're now installing glazing. The others started later; they used the sites for staging equipment and parking for a while. The triangular site between the Granville Bridge and the Seymour Ramp was the last to start. If you look at mcminsen's pictures from six months ago, on page 74, the triangle site between Howe St. ramp and Granville Bridge had just reached grade, and the site between the Granville Bridge and the Seymour Ramp was still below grade.

Well of course it is. It has to be designed and stamped by a structural engineer and abide by the city and national building codes.

I think the copper is going to be more or less prominent depending on the kind of light available and angle it's viewed at. I look forward to seeing the whole building uncovered.
