It is spectacular. I have to say, I think it is the best facade of all the recent office tower construction in New York. So glad they decided against the "blue glass" facade so many other towers have.
Let's hope Chase follows suit with something other than blue glass.

Anyway, it was a hot time in the big city today, but that didn't keep me from seeing this baby go up...

The best angle of this building are those from the south side of 42nd btwn Lex and Park, where GCT is in the foreground.

The sheer mass of the building is impressive!!!

While the pictures are fantastic. They really don't completely capture how massive this thing looks from that angle.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Look closer. But the building doesn't get "bigger" from a certain angle. Personally, I prefer the view from the southwest corner, where the tower is unimpeded by other structures, to really appreciate it. It's an impressive tower, not as massive as those of the Hudson Yards, but that's an open area. This one fits perfectly where it sits.

Everything about this building they got right thus far. I love it, its beautiful. Would have preferred it be at least 1500ft but we can't have it all.

Judging from the facade at the moment, it'll look way better than the renderings. Its a clean, luxurious palate.

In this city, anything 1250' or great will be profound. The slight elevation boost will aid as well. Portion of 42nd heading East has a slight decline elevation wise. Would add a couple of feet to its perceived height from sea-level. If Vandy was built around 5th, around 6-8th Ave., it would gain close to a 60' in terms of perceived height from sea level; 0' AMSL. Which on a side note, CPT and 111 W57th will be bloody tall when viewed from lets say the river. So with those towers, add an extra 80-90' illusion.

Seems to me that this tower is trying to do with slightly canted horizontal beams ofearth-toned terra-cotta what ESB did with vertical columns of limestone and granite.

Rising up...this would be a perfect shot of the completed tower.
